I just saw an interesting theory on Youtube about Trump falling asleep in court. His pattern of behavior does not fit the narrative that he is being sedated and that is why he nods off. Granted, he needs horse tranqs to shut him the fuck up. However, the theory is that it may be yet another sign of his cognitive decline. As dementia and other cognitive decline progresses, being overstimulated will often cause someone to fall asleep. Someone mentioned their grandfather would often be quite lively for a little while when they would go out to a restaurant, but would fall asleep mid meal suddenly from the overstimulation of the environment. Similar concept.

Being forced to sit in court all day while being inundated with information he does not want to hear is certainly stressful for him (good), but it may also be contributing to his pattern of falling asleep in court. He clearly is in mental decline. Trump has always been crazy like a fox, but lately, he just honestly seems crazy.

Just another thought:
Given the unconfirmed commentaries/?rumours that he may have chronically been consuming stimulants like adderall, it would go a long way to explaining some of his public behaviours (e.g. sniffling plus plus, rapid incoherent thought and speech patterns, ragings, mood swings). Also when stimulants/amphetamines start wearing off, fatigue, sleepiness and of course irritability can ensue. One can imagine that the practise would also have deleterious compounding impact on any impairment in brain function.

I read an X-post from another R-wing doofus claiming that he needs more sunshine. :poop:

Like Donnie doesn't use tanning cream because he's in his office all day tweeting.

Primetime host Jesse Watters, a former Bill O’Reilly lackey whose stock in trade is delighting Fox News grandpas with his performatively outrageous antics, was beside himself on Monday that golf-loving ex-president was stuck in the courtroom and not getting enough time on the links.

“The guy needs exercise. He’s usually golfing. And so, you’re going to put a man who’s almost 80, sitting in a room like this on his butt for all that time? It's not healthy,” Watters exclaimed on Monday’s broadcast of The Five. “You know how big of a health nut I am. He needs sunlight and he needs activity. He needs to be walking around, he needs action. It’s really cruel and unusual punishment to make a man do that. And any time he moves, they threaten to throw him in prison!”
Hours later on his solo primetime show, Watters doubled down.

“Trump has been on the move his whole life,” he fumed. “Golf, rallies, movement, action, sunlight, fresh air, freedom. This isn’t lawfare. This is torture. They’re making a 77-year-old man sit in a room for eight hours straight, four days a week.”

Whatever happened with that hearing for repeatedly violating his gag order? I haven't heard anything about it.

Baby steps.

Donald Trump was held in contempt of court Tuesday and fined $9,000 for repeatedly violating a gag order that barred him from making public statements about witnesses, jurors and some others connected to his New York hush money case. If he does it again, the judge warned, he could be jailed.

Prosecutors had alleged 10 violations, but New York Judge Juan M. Merchan found there were nine. The ruling was a stinging rebuke for the Republican former president, who had insisted he was exercising his free speech rights.
Merchan wrote that Trump “is hereby warned that the Court will not tolerate continued willful violations of its lawful orders and that if necessary and appropriate under the circumstances, it will impose an incarceratory punishment.”

Trump stared down at the table in front of him as the judge read the ruling, frowning slightly.

Aww. Turn that frown upside down!

My question is: Given that he's on pre-trial release in three other jurisdictions and that the conditions of his release in each one includes something along the lines of "Defendant shall not violate any federal, state or local laws".... what are the chances his pre-trial release is revoked in one or more of those?
