I keep getting vibes of "No Man's Sky", which is ok I suppose. I hope it doesn't take Todd & boys years to make the game playable.

It's far closer to Empyrion: Galactic Survival than No Man's.

All the reviews are live now. I've been watching one by some guy who is live streaming it. I find that one interesting because I'm not really very good and get to see the choices he makes. He doesn't seem to be in any area that involves spoilers.

I'll close it out before long and get the game on the 6th. Hopefully my laptop can handle it. If not, Steam has a good return policy.

I'd honestly wait half a year before the community settled on body replacers, skeleton enhancements and physics frameworks before adding mods.

I will buy Starfield the first time it is included in a Steam sale. There should be stable mods by then. I expect it will start with porting models and utilities from Fallout and Skyrim. We need a script extender before the really interesting mods come out.

The game becomes available to me and anyone who didn't want to pay an extra $30 at 8pm ET. Steam allows a refund if it's played less than two hours. I am looking forward to it but my computer doesn't meet their minimum specs. What is the real minimum though? My computer meets them except for the gpu. They list that as a 1070 ti. I have a laptop rtx 3050. Userbenchmark.com says the 1070 ti is 67% better. That is quite a bit. So ... All I need is 30 fps at 1080p and less than perfect graphics.

The plan is to rush through character creation and get outside where graphics are put to the test. If the fps is ok, then start over properly. We shall see.

Welp. Looks like I'll be getting Starfield after all. He ordered 2 graphics cards, both of which Starfield is supposed to be free with purchase. So, he's getting it too.

Currently waiting for the truck to arrive as they are supposed to be out for delivery after Amazon screwed shit up with the first one he ordered that should have been here this past Friday.

We weren't planning on buying two cards so close together but thanks to Amazon losing the first one, he ordered another.

Should I let him wait until the actual day (Saturday, my birthday) or should I make him install the card tonight?
