I saw it with friends on New Year's Day. Not having seen The Last Jedi, I was a little lost, but I got the gist of it; that meant I wasn't aware of contradictions and discontinuities relating to TLJ, and I may watch it when it comes to cable.
I never was all that invested in the franchise, which, from some of the reactions, may be a good thing watching this film. My friends were, "meh"; didn't hate it, didn't love it.
TLJ is currently on cable. On TNT I think. I only know because I recorded it to watch as part of my recent marathon.

This is a very accurate explanation of what's wrong with this new trilogy.

My feelings about RoS are mixed-somewhat positive. I don't hate it but there are parts of the movie where I was literally thinking, "this is bad writing."

The problems with this trilogy originate with the derivative nature of The Force Awakens. Instead of taking an interesting route like what The Mandalorian has done, it rehashed A New Hope, as a rebuke to both The Return of the Jedi and all the prequels.

As someone who appreciates the prequels for their narrative, if not their dialogue, I actually think I like them *better* than this new trilogy. I don't care about most of the people that showed up on the screen. The most interesting character was Kylo Ren / Ben Solo because he actually had a story arc. Finn was wasted in The Last Jedi and my give a shit about Poe Dameron is way below where it should be. That last hug between the three of them was mostly unearned, to me. There were so many more interesting places to go, and hopefully better hands will take care of the next saga.
TBH, The Last Jedi plays out very similar to a backwards playing The Empire Strikes Back only with more pokemon and military tactics devised by a 6 yr old.

Imagine the pitch meeting!

"The fans didn't like Episode 7! They say we just ripped off Episode 4 and just made everything bigger!"
"Well, yeah, we did that."
"Yes, but now they demand to see something new! What are we going to do now? We thought we could just get away with producing badly disguised remakes without original ideas!"
"Well just flip the script around and read it backwards."
"... That might work..."
"And lets rotate the big spaceship by 90° so it doesn't look too much like Darth Vader's dreadnought."

I saw the movie over my Christmas holidays, and as a fan I found it very satisfying personally.
I deliberately avoided all reviews until AFTER I saw the movie, and while I agree with a lot of the criticisms I still enjoyed the movie.

I have seen every Star Wars movie on the big screen within 2 weeks of its initial theatrical debut; I have literally grown up with Star Wars.

I really liked Force Awakens and loved Last Jedi, not for any reason other than I thought they were good films and I liked the new characters.

Rise of Skywalker was a big let-down. I haven't fully put my finger on it, but after the initial endorphin rush I always get when the words "Star Wars" first appear on the screen accompanied by that opening chord, this film felt like a fan-fic- starting with the ridiculous opening crawl and going downhill from there. I recognized the familiar characters on the screen, but they were doing and saying things that didn't make sense to me in the context of the other films. They completely sidelined Rose, completely dropped the thread left dangling from the final shot of Last Jedi, and made a number of truly confounding decisions that I can't mention without spoilers.

Babu Frik is epic, and I breathlessly await his spin-off movie, but otherwise I was disappointed with this final chapter in a number of ways. An actual fan-fic would likely be more satisfying.

EDIT: And look, I know Carrie Fisher's death was an enormous problem for them. This was originally supposed to be Leia's movie after all. But there are lots of much better decisions they could have made in response to her passing.
This is the first SW film [well, also solo, but I bought the digital version] that I did not bother to go to the theater to see.
