So I was really mad when I posted here the other day. It started with a pretty simple conversation in-world, that got trolled by somebody screaming "#bombukraine' at me and it just set me off into a rage. I have a lot of repressed anger related to this war. Sometimes, I can't talk about it without freaking out. Sometimes, it just explodes. OP didn't deserve to have their thread fired upon like this. But people living in Kyiv also don't deserve to be bombed. I do think OP should face some adversity for assuming it's okej to advertise in SL in the russian language, and I do think the russian language should be subjected to more scrutiny in SL (I feel the same way about English a lot of the time). But I kind of went overboard here. Sorry. I don't know the correct way to politely go about things sometimes and overstep and piss people off.

But still, I can totally understand why Flossy isn't all to excited, even if this whole Russian attack isn't your personal fault.

Pictures like these from the skies over Kyiv in the morning paper, don't not make a lot of people outside of Russia want to visit a Russian venue at the moment.

It's stuff like this. It hurts to watch, to see, to know it happening. It makes me angry and sad. Right now, russia is bombing the piss out of Kyiv in retaliation for Ukraine hitting russian aircraft, targeting airfields, and destroying oil infrastructure. The Ukrainians are trying to break russia's ability to wage war by making it harder to put aircraft in the sky and harder to provide fuel. They're trying to destroy russia's ability to bomb them. The russians are not tactically targeting Ukrainian military infrastructure, though. The way that they are going about bombing Kyiv is an attempt to break the Ukrainian population's will to fight. I believe russia targeting Kyiv like this is evil.

I've encountered similar push-back occasionally for ignorantly asking if Finns could speak Swedish. Some do, some even speak it as their first language. But many Finns also view Swedish as an oppressive colonial language. So basically, I learned to speak English with Finns, compliment their language (because it is beautiful) and only speak Swedish if they do or signal an interest in it. I feel similar toward russian as some of them do toward Swedish. There are other language issues between people. But it's not nessary to get into all of them here.

TLDR. Sorry OP. I was having a really bad day. I went all in at you, even after you switched to English (I should have respected that more). Somtimes, I have a hard time dealing with the fact that not all russians and russian-speakers support the war and took it out on you.
