First off, how the Bellisserian community a cesspit? And how is Bellisseria ruining everything they touch? These aren't rhetorical questions, I'd really like to know your reasoning.

Their whole community is seriosly f*ed up. Just go to the official Forum and raise a voice against anything LL does regarding those (like stupid road designs, auctioning off prime home locations at Fantasy Faire while the mainstay of Premium users had not managed to grab a single house at all or removing the right to use banlines on a whim only after people decided to sign up for Premium to get a new home) and instantly the LL cheerleaders of the inofficial Bellarisa community will gang up on you, because they love to be a Blockwart and hope for a recognition by their overlords. If you are part of those bootlickers I feel sorry for your existance. Get a life - even if just a second one!

Stupid road designs? Which ones? Do you mean the oldest roads in the north of old Bellisseria? The problematic roads in the Stilt home areas?

They keep releasing new homes, it isn't that hard to get one. I had mine within a few hours of dropping my mainland. Poor semi-homeless CC, or "Doh, you need to remove group contribution to get a Linden Home"

A whim? Banlines are a BLIGHT on the mainland. Every residential community I've been a part of in SL considers them a blight and they are banned in such communities.

"Blockwart", really? Most Bellisserians are oldbies or alts of oldbies anyway. Bellisseria serves a need. It's kind of like a combination of the Blake and Bay City without the huge buy-in.

They got removed on the new Linden Homes shortly after their introduction. Now one can argue the pros and contras of banlines, but I think most will agree that changing the rules of their use after people changed parcels was a stupid idea.

I have done a lot of home hopping in Bellisseria during the last month, because I try to make some add ons for the linden homes.
Sometimes I get not so great positioned houses, most of the time average situated ones and a couple of times I got a home that was situated on a place that I normally would never ever give up again. But I'm not really interested to live in Bellisseria at the moment. I just need the houses as starting point for an add-on build.
I live on my beach on private land.

My impression is, that the houses are given away at random. Maybe not when given out the first time, but when they are abandoned they certainly are.

LOL, not Bellisaria. I was only there for a day, max. Where I am now, and the ban lines were up before I got there, so it wasn't me. But if it's only Bellisaria they've decided to not have them, that explains it.

I wonder if there would be an uproar if the Lab got rid of ban lines on all main land.

I still think it would be great if they could just instance out a parcel with limited access. So someone can pass through it, just not interact with anything and not see the local avatars in the area.

In case anyone doesn't know what "Instancing" is, in MMOs, sometimes you enter an area that is different for certain players. Like maybe you enter a castle, with NPCs or a battle or something, then after some quests, the battle ends or the castle becomes a ruin. The castle would be "instanced". For players earlier in the story, they see a castle and a battle, for anyone later in the story, they see the ruin. The players on either side of this story, can't interact, in this region, though they may be able to interact elsewhere in the game.

Fun fact: as you can still individually ban people in Belli, nothing stops you from preventively temp adding (5 minutes ban) anyone within a radius of your parcel to your banlist - and yes you can automatize this via script,...
'I honestly would be surprized if no one did this yet - it's the next logical step after LL did release rules with loopholes as big as circus tents.
