Is this how we can rid the world of fascists? By criticizing their masculinity?
It works with most of the men, but only some of the women.

Most conservative young men I know (not quite all) are really, REALLY insecure about their masculinity... "cuck" became an insult on the internet entirely because fascists project their insecurity about this onto people they disagree with. It is probably the most obvious projection I can think of.

I don't disagree with you I'm just saying that it isn't just fascists that project their masculine insecurities. All of us, regardless of gender, are guilty at one time or another of projecting our own insecurities on others when disagreed with. It's part of being human and maturing.

It's all too much to try to deal with because the human population growth is out of control, like HeLa cancer cells.

Henrietta Lacks achieved a kind of immortality on February 9, 1951. On that day a sample of cancerous cells from her cervix was transferred to a culture dish, doused with nutrients, and left to grow. Lacks, a 30-year-old mother of four from Baltimore, had one of the most aggressive cervical cancers her doctors had ever seen, and the cells culled from her tumor grew avidly, doubling their number each day. Then they escaped. Small spills are always happening in laboratories; what distinguished Lacks’s cells was their ability to survive after they were somehow spilled. They were so hardy that if just one of them fell on a petri dish it would outgrow and overwhelm anything else living on that dish within a month.

Soon Henrietta Lacks’s cells were traveling from lab to lab, either deliberately sent--many cancer researchers had taken to using them in their experiments--or as an unseen contaminant tagging along in another cell line. Some researchers who thought they were looking at something completely different--a line of liver cells, say--ended up studying Henrietta Lacks’s cervical cells by accident. The cells even slipped through the iron curtain and into Russia.

Lacks died in October 1951, but her peripatetic cells lived on. Now some biologists are saying that those cells, called HeLa cells for short, have lost more than their connection to Henrietta Lacks. HeLa cells, these researchers claim, are no longer human at all: they are single-celled microbes--closely related to us, to be sure, but their own distinct species.

[...]

These little unicellular organisms have crossed oceans, spread their range, got into other cultures and outcompeted them, says Richard Strathmann, a marine biologist at the University of Washington’s Friday Harbor Laboratories who dabbles in evolutionary theory. They’re only different from other single-celled organisms in that a human being gave rise to them.

It's very difficult for me to remain sympathetic and empathetic to humanity (as a whole, not individuals) knowing what I know and watching what is happening now. Humans have overextended themselves and we're about to see the consequences of it. It's going to be a very long walk to survival, if humanity can walk far enough. The worst part is, only humans are to blame for it all.

Some of the far right, however, look forward to the imminent collapse of decadent liberal democracy in the US and elsewhere, which they to think has already started,
They're not wrong -in fact other than the cause and the role that they have to play (they're the barbarians, they're not the romans being sacked) they're quite right.

I'm pretty sure we're a generation or two away from another "feudal age" where education will be scarce and probably limited to what's needed for work and following jesus -if we dont' just have some straight-up global multi-national owned sweatshop/private prison combo.

If all the current records and news stories of today were preserved (they won't be, obviously) I think this would be the point that future historians would declare as the end of the age of enlightenment values (valuing science, education, genuine freedom of speech beyond being able to spew toxicity, the arts).

Performative assholery competition:

I wonder what he'd say if anyone asked him for specifics? Like where it was illegal (besides in what passes for his brain)?
I had to look this up:

the meme isn't an exact quote, but what he actually said was still outrageously dumb.

I don't know if this is real, and I doubt the sign is at every iHop, but I wouldn't put it past some branch in a red state (or county) to do it.
I guess we'll see if they respond to this.

Edited because this guy has a good point.

lol, when did Biden give out "free money"?

I remember a Congress-ordered stimulus back in March or something. And the Federal unemployment extension mandate began under Trump, and ended more than three months ago. Literally no person in the entire country right now is choosing not to work because they're living off of federal pandemic relief.
