What are some older games that you still love playing?

I really enjoy The Sims Medieval - which is now 10 years old. I love the main Sims series, but this offshoot of the Sims 3 is really charming and has focused gameplay and a story.

Also, one of my favorite racing games - Need for Speed Hot Pursuit - just got a remastered version. Sometimes remasters are hit and miss, but they did a pretty great job on it.

Finally, I still love Assassin's Creed 2 - I love the entire series, but that one holds a special place in my heart and I still go back to it. Ezio Auditore is my favorite character from any game series.

Assassin's Creed 3 recently got a remaster as well that actually made it a better game. I pretty much can play any of the games in the series over and over again. I have four or five of them installed at any given time.

I keep replying Skyrim with different sets of mods. It allows so many playstyles from stealth assassin to barbarian tank to magic wielder. All of which make great stealth archers.

The world of Dereth, in Asheron's Call (1999-2017), was an open map that received updated content, along with event-based extensions to the story line, monthly, every single month. We had houses and questable furnitures (see Khaook's kitchen in the picture below) and mix/match/dyable armour pieces and crafting and houses. It was loads of continuingly evolving fun until Warner Brother (spit) unceremoniously shut it down.

Khamon was at Microsoft in Redmond, participating in a Working Connections grant, and they gave him some employee store credit to spend. AC jumped off the shelf right into his hands! I gave that copy of Jared Godel then was jealous of his boogie so ordered a copy of my own and we played and played and had the best time. There are some mock servers built on a reverse engineering of the client currently running, still being developed, one operated by some fairly consistent people that played on the Harvestgain shard. So Khamon may sign onto one of those a play again.

i have a secret love for fighting games particularly killer instinct.. nothing is more satisfying to me then pulling off a huge Ultra combo! I always have it loaded on pc and xbox... orginal KI was 1994 this curret version was 2013. Still have online tournaments to this day. #bringbackKI

V~~~ me pulling off a 100+ combo online with sabrewulf in a close battle

I recently resub to FFXIV which was released in 2010. I rarely get to the end game of MMOs... this was one exception. even when everyone stopping playing i loved playing it by myself and playing a white mage as the warrior of light!. Graphics still hold up in my opinion... Sure i'll wipe a few dozen times with Randos but just drives me to do better!

I still like to play Pharaoh/Cleopatra now and then. Speaking of which - there is a game being developed right now called Builders of Egypt which is practically a clone of Pharaoh except with highly realistic graphics and a different UI. There's also a game coming out this month called Nebuchadnezzar which is right in the vein of the Caesar/Pharaoh/Zeus games.

I still like to play the Age of Empires games. Although nowadays I play the remasters that just came out in the last two years (they're awesome and worth buying if you're an AoE fan).

Once in a while I play Tomb Raider Anniversary. It's a 2007 rebuild of the very first Tomb Raider game from way back, but it's getting older enough to start being called an "old game" by itself.

Remasters of the first two Yakuza games, which were PS2 exclusives, came out a couple of years ago for the PC. I'm starting to play these (well, I'm starting with Yakuza 0 which is a prequel but was released much more recently). Last month remasters of games 3 - 5 also were released for the PC too, so I can play almost the whole main-series now! The only one missing is 6. But, only those first 2, which were originally PS2 games are what I'd consider "older".

I'm thinking about making a new-graphics Morrowind build and playing it. I've been following the development of Daggerfall Unity but I'm not really sure I'd be able to stick through actually playing it, still on the fence about that one.

The Sims games have never been on my radar but I didn't know about the Medieval version. That has my attention now. And it's all Cristiano's doing!

I have always played older games. I'm typically behind the curve by anywhere from 5 years onward. I still have Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim installed. I've played the remasters of Baldur's Gate, but before that was still using mods with the original.

Like Cody, I too play the 2nd series of Tomb Raider games. I am still back on The Witcher 1 because I have this thing about playing them in order. I had previously played Yakuza 0, 1 and 2. I cannot play 3, 4 and 5 due to unforeseen circumstances but definitely want to at some point.

I have Borderland 1, 2 Fable and the older Tales of games. I have played through the Square Enix games once again more recently like Chronotrigger, FFVI and so on with their modern incarnations of them.

The Sims Medieval has always interested me, but is it available for Windows? I am pc exclusive though I do have PSNow, and am currently working on Red Dead Redemption and Dishonored there.

Star wars galaxies (swg legends emu) is a particular favorite of mine. SWG was my first mmo/virtual world and I'm glad it still lives in some capacity. There still hasn't been another mmo that has even come close to some of the mechanics it offers.

Old/older shooters like quake, doom, planetside 2, and counter strike source keep having me come back.

rpgs like knights of the old republic and the fallouts and elder scrolls and others.

and final fantasy xiv, though it's hard to think of it as older.

I still play Alpha Centauri when I have a lot of time to waste.

Best $5 I ever spent on a used game :p

Mega man 2, Mega man X, Ice hockey, Tetris, Castlevania SOTN, Doom 2, Pro Wrestling, Metal gear solid: Snake eater, Streets of rage 1-3, River City Ransom, Super Dodgeball...

And more I can't think of right now but the ones listed above I can play over and over and not really get tired of, kind of like video game comfort food.

Does 2015 count as older? I never played Witcher 3 much in the past but have been playing it a lot lately. I'm not doing anything in particular to try to level up quickly such as plowing through the main quest so I'm still only level 19.

I've been invited to provide some models for a Skyrim mod. I'll post pictures when they're in! Unfortunately, work and pandemic stuff keeps getting in the way, but I'm really dedicated to getting it done soon.

I still need to finish my current run through -- I got mods that made magic stronger (so it's more useful at higher levels), nerfed enchanting a bit, and sticking with studded/hide, iron sword, and hunting bow (or summoned weapons). Also got one that makes food do useful things!

Hopefully should postpone that "I'm op and this is sorta boring now" that I kept doing to myself.

Though I also have a Derkeethus mod that removes his cap. Between him, my flame atronach, and me we do pretty good, but the boosted magic goes both ways, makes the dungeons full of mages really . ,. . hectic.

My most challenging run so far for lower levels is playing a Necromancer. I carry a dagger to make a fresh corpse when I get desperate, but otherwise rely on who I can reanimate for combat skills.
