O.J. Simpson passed away at age 76. He was a famous NFL player and actor turned criminal later, also suspect of murdering his wife.

Well... true, this is an incident which leaves one speechless, and totally sounds like him. BUT: since when does anybody have to sign a NDA, just because he/she witnessed something/someone coming by?

A NDA is something which normally is entered voluntarily and negotiated upfront, and then the information flows. Not the other way around.

So for me this sounds like an enforced NDA. In most jurisdictions enforced NDAs and contracts are non binding, worthless. So question for me is why this twitter member never doubted the legal status of that NDA, and didn't speak up before, especially given the fact she studied law until this event.

I guess it's possible they made her sign the NDA to keep their job? But I immediately noticed that detail as well and that makes the story a bit fishy, even though I have little doubt OJ and the University would have done such a thing.

Yeah, the story sounds a bit off to me, too as I think about it more. Not to belabor the point, but an NDA is a contract, implying it is a contract with some party. Who was the party? Even if it was OJ, did the NDA contain some clause about how it would terminate at his death? I can't believe HIS lawyers would write it that way, but if not, then whose lawyer wrote it? If the agreement wasn't with OJ, then how does his death affect the agreement?

A contract requires consideration from both parties -- what was the consideration the poster received? Got to keep her job? That's an agreement under duress and would be unenforceable, never mind if OJ is breathing or not.

For that matter, how does this boss just happen to have a cigarette handy after not having one for years?

If the parents reported it to the LAPD, it should have been available for discovery by the prosecution -- but, LA's a "company town" and I'd be thoroughly un-surprised if LAPD conveniently misplaced those records.

Very weird.

I don't doubt for a moment that OJ had a long history of ugly stuff, and I rather hope it all comes gurgling up to the surface now, but I'm not 100% convinced about this story.

The sequel will probably be better.

Are we supposed to make noises like, "He had his problems, but he was really good at sportsball ...."?
What team did he even play for?

Edit: the Buffalo Bills apparently.
