Conservative's always be falling for the delusion that loyalty, support and solidarity on the right goes both ways.

Trump is a black hole, he absorbs it all, and those caught in his pull feel like part of the winning/receiving side, until they realize they're being spaghettified, and it's beyond too late to escape it.

Poor Jenner, couldn't read the writing on the wall, refused to listen when it was read out loud to her, and now the wall has fallen on top of her. It won't even be useful as an object lesson to others who are merrily selling out, believing the same can't/won't happen to them. Until it does.

Oh goddess...Jenner. I was a member of a trans-forum that had entire threads about the clusterfuck that is Caitlyn Jenner and her show.

"The left kind of took my issue."

One of her problems was that she never realized that it was never "her" issue in the first place. She saw herself as a pioneer, because in her golf-playing conservative bubble.....she was. But she didn't know about those who came before her. And she never understood the problems of actual trans people, especially trans POC. She was like "employment discrimination? what's that. poor trans people just need to work on their resumes and go on interviews and stop complaining about discrimination"

Jenny Boylan, who was also a member of the trans-forum I was a member of, became VERY frustrated with her. We had suspicions that one of the members who was a lurker and who had mentioned being conservative was Jenner. We also thought that Jenner was homophobic and thought that since she was a woman she had to be into guys now....and couldn't admit her attraction to Candis Cayne.

Like, did she think trans rights were at all a GOP/Conservative/MAGA issue beyond blind hate? Or ever going to be? Was she going to try to make. MAGA pro trans people, but oh, those wiley commie lefties stole it with their endless empathy!!!! Curse them!!!!

I don't know, I think she saw conservatives as favoring "freedom" rather than being about all those "icky rules, taxes and regulations" and thought "of course they'd support the rights of trans people to live their lives without government interference and those icky taxes"

As an aside, I was NOT the only SL resident on said forum, and said forum would have appreciated the Товарищ thread. The owner of said forum once danced on Joe McCarthy's grave while wearing red.

Yeah, its basically the "Its one banana" thing but being trans. Like she never had any real worry or hardship because she started well connected and wealthy.

And you are probably right about the taxes and freedoms comments as well. The modern GOP is basically Libertarians in everything but name. Anti-tax stuff tends to just be another angle of "fell for the disteaction" thinking. The issue isn't the taxes, its the waste in use caused by corruption that isn't swiftly dealt with. Made worse because the most corrupt have convinced people that the problem is actually just the taxes themselves, so people keep voting these most corrupt people back into office.

Anyway, I will not tengent rant, I will not tangent rant.
