Sometimes tech companies get wrapped up in the confused philosophy of more must be better,: "You want 2 screens on your phone? The we'll give you 3!" I don't want 3 screens on my phone, I want a phone that can tell me which calls I need to take.
This is a common problem with modern tech. Too many companies think just because something is "new" it is "innovative."Sometimes tech companies get wrapped up in the confused philosophy of more must be better,: "You want 2 screens on your phone? The we'll give you 3!" I don't want 3 screens on my phone, I want a phone that can tell me which calls I need to take.
Like I said, I'll wait for the cost to drop (like during a sale). If I get one.I didn't know it wasn’t in colour before. At that price, wouldn’t a tablet be better?
Aren't Kindles mainly for reading books? They are just black and white anyway. Could be I'm behind the times and Kindles are good for other things.I didn't know it wasn’t in colour before. At that price, wouldn’t a tablet be better?
(I read books on an iPad)
Well, I’m guessing it’s to see book covers, and maybe graphic novels /comics, or any images added in some books…Aren't Kindles mainly for reading books? They are just black and white anyway. Could be I'm behind the times and Kindles are good for other things.
Additional to Isa's reply above: I tend to rely (ironically?) on visual cues when managing my book library, and having the book covers show in color makes a huge difference for that.Aren't Kindles mainly for reading books? They are just black and white anyway. Could be I'm behind the times and Kindles are good for other things.
It probably depends on the person.I didn't know it wasn’t in colour before. At that price, wouldn’t a tablet be better?

Also, if you think an iPad is light in weight...I have tried reading on many tablets and just, can't. I got an eInk Kindle and its great. Plus its water proof so I can take it in the bathtub
I wouldn't expect any colored screen device to manage that.I know of no general-use tablet, even iPads, that provides weeks of battery life.
I bet the colored screen kindle lasts for a while though. Definitely longer than a tablet. The whole benefit of eInk is that it sort of, draws once and it sticks. So its not burning hardly any energy while you sot there reading and staring at the page.I wouldn't expect any colored screen device to manage that.
