Not for a long time. I called the local Verizon store (my current mobile provider) and they told me how. Turns out my old phone has bluetooth, and just laying it next to the new one I could go into contacts and copy them over. Next step was making a protective "case" for it. I ordered one, but it will take a week to arrive. So I took some closed-cell foam from a previous purchase, duct tape, and an old sock and made a pouch for it. Still have lots to learn and set up.

There is one app I highly recommend for you, X-Plore. It is a file explorer app. There are lots of others but they mostly suck. It does remote filesystems too such as my windows laptop or google drive. Very handy for copying files.

Phone case sock I folded back the sock to show the construction, but normally it would all be slid inside. The foam is about as thick as the phone, so I used three layers. The middle layer has a cutout that I traced around the phone then cut with an X-acto knife.

You made me realize that my old phone still works as a camera even though cell service has been removed.

So on Black Friday I bought a second drive fory desktop. I knew I probably would want one when I bought it as 1TB isn't nearly enough. It arrived recently.

So, the case on this thing is kind of crazy compared to any previous desktop I have worked on, all the cabling is pushed out of the way and there is tons of empty space to help with airflow and all that. I dug out all of the extra parts and such and.... Could not at all figure out how or where to mount this drive in this case.

I finally resorted to an online search, which brought me to the specs page. One of the demo gifs showcased expandable bays for drives. The drive went from the backside I to this bay behind some cables, down near the bottom. It's not really a design I had seen before.

Then I couldn't find the power cables for the SATA drive, because they were tucked away inside the case as well. I was really surprised it might not have had SATA power because it had adaptors for the old huge 4 pin power connectors.

It's been a while since the physical aspects of a computer made me feel like a moron.

So it was finally time to join the rest of civilization and get a smartphone (Galaxy S20 FE). When I worked for Boeing we weren't allowed to have phones with cameras (or cameras for that matter) at work, so I had a little flip phone. That one is showing its age, and Walmart had a Black Friday deal that was really good, so I ordered it 8 days ago. It finally arrived today. Now I get to figure out how to use it and move my contacts list.
