Good question.
The truth, which will be available for all to see before long, is that Swalwell’s conduct with interns, young staff, and female fans was an open secret for a long time, and yet the party, if not Pelosi in this case specifically, had been supporting him and raising money for him. That speaks to a larger problem... There are public claims on social media going back to 2020; this more recent one is from an aide to one of his opponents in the governor’s race, Antonio Villaraigosa. There are more private claims that go back all the way to when Swalwell entered Congress in 2013.

Yes yes, but see, while the base manufacturing costs are the same, China is less concerned with maximizing profits to the extreme to please share holders, so they don't mark them up a lot.

In last month’s job report, healthcare accounted for a whopping 43 per cent of all new jobs added. The sector was a steady driver of growth over the previous year as well, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics says that it will continue to be so in the future. In fact, its 2024 to 2034 projections show that healthcare and the social assistance sector (which includes things that overlap with healthcare, such as vocational assistance and food support, as well as other things like housing aid and childcare) will be the fastest growing sector over the next decade, with an 8.4 per cent predicted job gain.

If the BLS is right, healthcare and social services will add many millions of new jobs to the economy. That’s good. But the reasons for the gains aren’t so reassuring. As the bureau puts it, “growth in this sector is expected to be primarily driven by both the ageing population and the growing prevalence of chronic conditions such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes”. In short, America is older and less healthy than ever before, and the costs associated with this are creating more spending.

To my mind he's simply pointing out the obvious (and I don't think the UK's "special relationship" with the US exists anywhere but in the minds of some newspaper editors and right-wing British politicians).

Britain’s ambassador to Washington has said that America’s only “special relationship” is “probably Israel”, not the UK, in remarks that risk embarrassing King Charles during his visit to the US this week.

Sir Christian Turner also criticised America’s political system for failing to hold US associates of the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to account, saying it was “extraordinary” that the scandal “hasn’t touched anybody” in the US.
