If TFG can deny being a o complete asshole to the press, insulting individual reporters and calling them them enemy of the people, and having all -caps Twitter rants about it, and conservatives can have collective amnesia about it while accusing Biden of having a tantrum by calling Douchey what he is when he thought he was off mic, BOJo can certainly forget about his £50 note stunt, or claim he's being set up, or whatever.

Oh look, Manchin and Sinema were Yea on this just last year. I’m sure the goalposts won’t change one bit: U.S. Senate: U.S. Senate Roll Call Votes 117th Congress - 1st Session

Liberal Stephen Breyer, current age 83 years old, wants to step down as judge at the Supreme Court at the end of his current term.

People are now expecting that Biden is able to deliver on one of his promises and will nominate a black woman as Breyer's successor.

UPDATE: Kevin will be sworn in!

Here's a little break from national politics, for something really, really local...

Kevin is a good friend of mine, from high school. He won a local election for township auditor, on a write in campaign. He's a good person, and completely honest, even though he's a libertarian. What can I say? Sometimes my friends aren't always smart. Anyway, the township supervisors are refusing to swear Kevin in, because they don't want to be audited by an elected official. They want to be audited by a CPA they hired. The supervisors actually do have the right to do that, but my friend Kevin still needs to be sworn in. Even with the CPA they hired, Kevin does still retain powers that the CPA does not have, including the power to set compensation for the township supervisors, who don't want to swear him in. I have a feeling Kevin will be giving the supervisors a pay cut when he takes office.

I haven't been actively involved in local politics for over a decade now, but I have a feeling this is going to get very, very stupid. Kevin's twitter thread is already #4 on ycombinator. I'm gonna end up campaigning to help a libertarian take an office they rightfully won, because it's the right thing to do. At least I'll be fighting with mostly republican supervisors. Democrats keep calling me conservative, just because I think Hillary and Biden are evil. Republicans give a nice, satisfying sneer when they call me liberal. It's nice to have more well defined battle lines, even if I have to stand with a libertarian organizer to do it. That's just one more absurdity to throw on the pile in 2022.

Here's Kevin's tweet thread.

On Tuesday the Tory MP John Penrose, Boris Johnson’s anti-corruption chief, accused the government of quietly delaying an economic crime bill that would have exposed the kleptocrats’ use of shell companies to buy British property. The same day the Centre for American Progress, a think tank close to the Biden administration, proposed a transatlantic effort “to prod stronger action from the UK government”. The report by an Obama-era official cited the “Londongrad” nickname and said that “uprooting Kremlin-linked oligarchs will be a challenge given the close ties between Russian money and the ruling Conservative Party, the press and its real estate and financial industry”.
The Tories are reported to have received £2 million from donors with Russian links since Johnson became prime minister in 2019. The intelligence and foreign affairs committees have urged the government to shut down the “London laundromat”. Tom Tugendhat, the Tory MP who chairs the latter committee, said: “Protecting Britain means protecting us from foreign corruptions. We shouldn’t need the US to call it out.”

That first sentence of the caller😂😂😂
People looking for the least little thing to take offense where there is none, or words to that effect.
That's every conservative snowflake ever. If only James O'Brien had known to quote examples like M&Ms in trainers, or Minnie Mouse in a pantsuit. Or Starbucks holiday cups.
Seems like a safe bet the caller wouldn't get the joke.
