In response to criticism from male fans, Paramount+ has announced that production has begun on Star Trek: Patriot. A more masculine take on the franchise, the show sees the all-American, all-male crew of the USS Starship Alpha bringing back capitalism to the Federation, expelling non-humans from Earth, and forcing regime change on Cardassia.
For its part, HBO has announced pre-production has begun in Belfast of the latest entry in the Game of Thrones universe: Westeros: Oops! All Dragons! HBO promises fans will love the all-dragon cast that finally drops the tiresome humans. Instead, the new series will focus on almost all dragon battles with time every week for hot dragon sex. The first season will air in 2028 with an already greenlit second season to air in late 2033.

This sounds like Dragon Tales with more steps.

It did a pretty good job on it without much prompting but the dragons were all wearing clothes and the center dragon at the bottom was white and I made it pink to match the Dragon Tales dragon colors.

Sid Krofft, the wildly imaginative puppeteer who teamed with his younger brother Marty to build an entertainment empire behind such trippy TV shows as The Banana Splits Adventure Hour, H.R. Pufnstuf and Land of the Lost, has died. He was 96.

Krofft, eight years older than Marty and the creative force of their business, died Friday in his sleep at the Los Angeles home of friend and business partner Kelly Killian. Marty died in November 2023 at age 86.

“I get a dream, and Marty gets it done,” Sid said of their partnership in a 2000 interview for the TV Academy Foundation.

“From day one, we have strived for realism in our depiction of what it’s like to work in an emergency room,” said creator R. Scott Gemmill. “When I saw the post Trump made of himself depicted as what was clearly a doctor, I was nearly floored by the authenticity. The bilowy white shirt, the red robe, the divine healing light emanating from his left hand… he absolutely nailed the doctor look. I’m not a fan of his politics, but I had to cast him immediately.”

I've decided to binge watch the first season of Psych*, and in the first episode Shawn finds a "totally nice" CD case in a trash bin as I humorously ponder "What the hell is a CD case?" in my best imitation of a not that bright Gen Z'er.

I also like watching old (old...) shows where someone is making a call on a pay phone, or when someone in an office uses a fax machine, and getting to ask similar pseudo-dumb questions.

* A benefit of watching it on streaming now is that I can fast forward through the opening credits and pass over that awful, awful theme song.

The funniest bit of this I have seen is Buffy.

In like, the last season, they got a cell phone. But then they kept basically pushing reasons why they could not use it because being able to get ahold of Buffy instantly kind of breaks the suspense of "We are in the graveyard in the dark for some reason on no vampires".

I think it maybe even got broken within a few episodes of it showing up.

Cordelia had one of those "brick" phones early on, with an antenna that pulls out and everything. Her family was rich, you know...
