Horrible.

Jonathan Joss, an actor on “King of the Hill” who voiced John Redcorn, died in a shooting on Saturday, San Antonio police confirmed to Variety. He was 59.

San Antonio officers were dispatched to a shooting in progress at a home on Sunday night around 7 p.m. When they arrived at the scene, they found Joss near the road after he was shot multiple times. The officers attempted life-saving measures until medics arrived, but Joss was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooter fled in a vehicle but was detained by officers a block away and booked for murder. The investigation is still ongoing. TMZ, which broke the news, reported that Joss was shot by a neighbor after a disagreement.
In a statement on Joss’ Facebook page, his husband Tristan Kern de Gonzales said that Joss was “murdered by someone who could not stand the sight of two men loving each other.”

From what I've seen so far, it looks like it's trying to stay more true to the Mary Shelley/Wollstonecraft original. I'm skeptical about the casting though. Oscar Isaacs always seems very present in his roles, it's hard for me to watch him without his other roles hanging around him being distracting. And making Jacob Elordi 'unpretty' seems like a crime. ;)

I ran across this limited series on Netflix and absolutely loved it!

Uzo Aduba as Cordelia Cupp is absolutely awesome.
I watched it twice... and dammit, I still can't figure out...
why the calligrapher is so messed up. Was he in the van that had an accident? It seems like he was there before the crash... I just don't know, and it bugs me. The rest of the series was so much fun though!

Yeah, I know Dakota posted this already... but what the hell, we've waited 40 years for this.

Honestly it could go either way. I like Mel Brooks, but he HAS made some stuff that just isn't great. I think I laughed maybe twice during "Dracula: Dead and Loving It".

That said - like, there's a whole orchard of low-hanging Star Wars fruit to pick right now for this kind of thing. I just worry a little about overly reactionary fandoms these days.

Yet another sequel that shouldn't have been made.

I'm Not-Sure on this one, because I have mixed feelings about it. Part of me is "ooh finally another Spaceballs". And another part is "They're making another spaceballs? Now? Why not 20 years ago? I guess it really is "Spaceballs 2: The quest for more money."

I'm sure. Along with the Blade Runner and Tron reboots and basically all Trek post-Voyager. And I think the world would be better if Alien was standalone.

And I'm honestly not sure the world needed more than one Star Wars. It certainly didn't need more than three.

Alien was two good films. The decision to swiitch from horror to action let then tackle the idea twice without getting old. Everything after that is wasted.

Spaceballs? I watched it once and it was okay. It's no Galaxy Quest. Or even Season 1 Orville. Or Lower Decks. But it will probably be his last project and Rick Moranas is coming out of retirement. So I will watch it. Probably once.

Wish granted. The Monkey Paw says now only Empire Strikes Back exists.

Alone, in a vacuum.

Nah, that won't work.

The first Star Wars is a complete movie - it has a definite beginning, middle, and end. It follows the three-act program quite nicely.

The Empire Strikes Back is good but it's also like a feature-length Act 2. It ends with the heroes at their lowest, and with a lot of dramatic tension left unreleased because unlike the first one*, Empire was meant out of the box to be part of a trilogy and Lucas knew there was a third movie coming to wrap the story up and serve as Act 3.

The problem with monkey paw wishes is, The Empire Strikes Back as the first and only Star Wars would never have been greenlit.
