But there's already a gay pron version of LotR, maybe, been told, or something, nm
It's been 20 years! If there was no gay porn versions of LOTR by now, I'd be worried about the gay porn industry.

LotR dramatizations have been rendered for over sixty years. Jackson may seem definitive, now, but there's a wealth of prior material. Some of it is gay and some of it is gay.

Porn parodies are typically not based on novels. As an industry, it's not that creative.

Now, if you know of something based on Bakshi's or Rankin and Bass' animation efforts, I'd love to see it...

Eh, I'll just leave this here.

The flood of pr0n sites using "lord of the rings" as tags for anything and everything makes stuff difficult to find >_<

Just saw Black Widow. It was decent. I don't have anything bad to say about it, except, maybe...

The one bit at the beginning, when Black Widow's sister gets hit with the brainwashing antidote, I couldn't help but laugh at the flippy dagger thing. I know it's not a new move, it's been done in films since forever, but ever since the last season of Game of Thrones, where Arya used the dagger flip to kill the night king, that move is hilarious to me. The only thing funnier would be if she did a crane kick, like in Karate Kid.

Totally not Black Widow's fault, Game of Thrones just ruined that move for me.

Theater sales dropped 67% from the previous, first weekend. Ouch.

Disney announced in March that “Black Widow,” among several of its 2021 films, would premiere simultaneously on the studio’s subscription-based streaming service — for a premium $30 price — and on the big screen while the struggling movie theater industry regained its footing. On July 9, “Black Widow” opened to $80 million in the U.S. and Canada, setting a COVID-era box office record. Disney padded the film’s final weekend tally by reporting the Scarlett Johansson-led comic book adventure collected an additional $60 million worldwide on Disney Plus. That pushed its global haul past $200 million.

Ten days after its domestic debut, the National Association of Theatre Owners, the industry’s main lobbying arm, released a fiery statement that takes aim at “Black Widow’s” rollout. For measure, NATO seemed to like “Black Widow,” calling it “such a well-made, well-received, highly anticipated movie.” Still, the group says the $200-million budgeted “Black Widow” underperformed at the box office and on Disney Plus.

“Despite assertions that this pandemic-era improvised release strategy was a success for Disney and the simultaneous release model, it demonstrates that an exclusive theatrical release means more revenue for all stakeholders in every cycle of the movie’s life,” the statement said.

Evernote link because why not

California kindergartner Dani stunned her parents in May when she addressed her mom, who said she was going to the eye doctor, in a polished British accent: “Mummy, are you going to the optician?”

“And we were like, ‘the what?’ ” says Dani’s father, Matias Cavallin. “That’s like a college-level word,” he says. “At least, I wasn’t using it.”

The culprit? A wildly popular English cartoon about a preschooler pig named Peppa.

Netflix lost 430,000 subscribers in the US and Canada in the second quarter and issued weaker than expected forecasts for later in the year, rekindling investor doubts over how the streaming group will fare after the economic reopening.

The California-based company predicted it would add 3.5 million subscribers in the third quarter, disappointing investors who were looking for a stronger rebound in the second half of the year. Analysts had forecast that Netflix would add 5.9 million subscribers during the third quarter.
In the past year and a half, Disney, Apple, WarnerMedia, Comcast and others have launched streaming platforms, and there are more than 100 streaming services for consumers to choose from, according to data company Ampere.

Yet on a call for investors, executives dismissed the idea that competition was behind the weaker figures.

“Does HBO or Disney... have a differential impact compared to the past? We’re not seeing that in the [data] we have,” said Reed Hastings, Netflix co-chief executive. “That gives us comfort.”
When they upped the subscription price again last year I didn't drop the service, but I did tier down to a lower quality. There's really nothing on Netflix that demands I see it in 4k.

Someone here must have Paramount+, yes? (I'm already sick of the Something+ naming convention...)

Were the D+ sales really that great? Personally I'll wait until it's included with the regular subscription.
First week they took in $60 million through Disney+. I haven't seen any reports on their take for the second (and now third) weekend.

The issue for theaters, though, is that they get none of that. So even if sales remain high for streaming, it still hurts them.
