Elon Musk said this and that about Tesla's full self driving? No, Sir, this video footage doesn't proof much, because all of these could be deep fakes!

Introducing: the deepfake defense, in case you told too much bullshit in the past you don't want to be the creator of today, because of - reasons!
Deep fakes are so easy to spot though. The hair is off, there is always a weird smoothness, etc etc.

For realism, Photoshop would be a much better/easier defense.

It still has the Pluto Nash That Was My Evol Clone defense in its pocketses if the deep fake ploy fails.

Plausible deniability isn't so plausible anymore.

I didn't put down Musk's rocket a lot for exploding last week because...well, I get it, it's a brand new rocket and rockets are hard, blah blah. I was amused by how really tryhard his fans were to be positive about it all, but even that is understandable to a degree, so I didn't want to harsh on them - it would seem really unbalanced to do so after being all excited about Artemis/SLS and its success.

But yikes - this thing was an IMMENSE failure. AFTER the launch, SpaceX went on a lot about how the ONLY criteria they really wanted to meet in order to call the thing a success was "clearing the tower" - even though like, obviously they had planned for it to do a lot more than that - but watching this video it now makes sense that they would say that, because the thing failed to do anything right after "clearing the tower" - and it barely even did that. It didn't ever go as fast as it needed to, never got as high as it needed to. The guy in the video makes a case that even the system meant to blow up the rocket on purpose if things went wrong didn't actually work, and the rocket was basically completely out of control until it finally mercifully blew itself up.

And the damage on the ground was MUCH worse than I'd expected or heard about. I saw the photos of the destroyed launch pad and that was bad, but it was worse than that.

Technically if the pad was destroyed the rocket did clear the pad.

...which is why Mr. Narcissist did not comment on the 'deepfakes' of him saying such things, and the articles about it, and the people commenting in Youtube videos about the artciles about those videos, until now. Clearly! Because of course.

I've watched a lot (a LOT) of launches in my 63 years. This was not a successful launch in any form.

Am I understanding this correctly? This .... company ... built a launch pad for the most obviously launch-pad-annihilating THING since Saturn V and TOTALLY IGNORED every damn thing NASA learned AND PUBLISHED while building the launch pad for that? You could probably literally download the plans for the Saturn V launch pad with a few clicks.

Because ............................................................why?

I'm sure those ARE actual, you know, Rocket Scientists Who Know WTF They're Doing, TYVM we see in the video (we need Daniel to confirm, but .... I'm pretty sure ....) so who is the numbnuts who thought they could shortcut that wee tiny bit of crucial engineering, said decision having summarily cannoned both the launch and the environment surrounding the launch?

While we're at it, who is the myopic fool who decided a completely underpowered self-destruct system would "probably work just fine, 'cause I'm, you know, a genius and stuff ...."

Oh .... wait... I think I know. I don't want to give it away, but I betcha he'll be the jackass throwing people under the bus in the weeks to come.

Because he wanted to launch on 4/20 for the lulz.
This is almoat certainly true too. Some engineer maybhave even said, "This needs fixed, we need to delay" and he said "No" then slapped one of those rubber poop emojis they sell at Walmart on the desk.

I'm going to call that rocket "low-orbit space Tesla" from now on.

We rode in the back of a Tesla while in Philly the other day (Uber). They need to make their backseats easier for tall people to get out of. I had real trouble getting out of that car - way more than the Camry I'd rode in earlier.

Drivers don't like me much. I refuse to sit in the backseat.

The Tesla is basically a $80,000 car built with the quality and design standards of a Yugo.
