We have 2 uncommon news regarding the world famous Oktoberfest in München, namely it was closed for a short time on Saturday due to being overcrowded. The public announcements on the area only mentioned that it was closed, but now why, which let to some panic in the crowd.

Today the Oktoberfest was closed due to a bomb threat. It will open around 05:30 pm.

Former long time chancellor of 16 years, now in politcial retirement Angela Merkel had an interview with a Hungarian portal named "Partizan." Merkel is lately quite vocative and had a lot of interviews, where she is making comments about recents developments in politics.

In above mentioned interview she stated that Poland and the Baltic state prevented a convergence between Russia and the EU. She proposed in 2021 a new dialogue format to stabilise the relationships, which was rejected by some Eastern european states because they feared that the EU otherwise might not be able to have a consensus about the foreign politics regarding Russia.

This is why in her eyes those countries have a joint guilt that the Ukraine war became a reality. Polands former president Duda rejected these statements.

To be fair, Schwäbisch Hall looks exactly like the kind of town where things like this are supposed to happen.

Today is the 9th of November, a very outstanding date in German history:

* 09/11/1848: Robert Blum was executed, one of the leaders of the March revolution.
* 09/11/1918: the declaration of republic in post-WWI-Berlin by Philip Scheidemann, which became the Weimar Republic
* 09/11/1923: the Hitler-Ludendorff Putsch or Bierhallen-Putsch attempt in Munich failed
* 09/11/1938: Kristallnacht, the night where many jewish synagogues were burnt down to ashes.
* 09/11/1989: the wall between West and East Germany went away.

Since the 9th of November stands in Germany history for freedom, but also failure with oppression and also crimes and guilt, which is very contradicting, this day is no bank holiday.

Instead the German reunification is always celebrated at the 3rd of October each year.

Meet Graham Pascoe, a Brit living in Germany since decades. Pascoe was the host of a tv series in the 80s named "Telekolleg: Englisch", so English by television. He was teaching the English language to a German audience from scratch.

And he became quite legendary doing so, also his iconic look. Aside that he published some books, most notably "The Falklands Saga: Volume 1-3" in 2024.

A British soon-to-be-aired TV documentary named "Hitler’s DNA: Blueprint of a Dictator" claims to have found evidence for that Hitler had a hidden, genetical disease named Kallmann syndrome.

The Kallmann syndrome hinders normal puberty, and the development of sexual organs.

The show claims that this explains why Hitler basically had no private life and was so dedicated towards politics. The documentary also denies claims that Hitler had jewish predecessors or had multiple personality disorder.

The Guardian made a great job to highlight the weak points of that show and its methodology.

Fridays for Future climate activists are staging more than 60 demonstrations nationwide as part of an international day of action tied to the UN climate conference underway in the Brazilian city of Belem.

In Berlin, protesters plan to gather at Pariser Platz with lanterns and an illuminated "Keep your Promises" sign, the group said.
The organizers say that a decade after the Paris Agreement — and after 30 rounds of global climate talks — there has been "no sufficient progress on climate protection."

"Even in 2025, emissions have risen again, and the habitability of the planet is in a poor state," activist Luisa Neubauer told the DPA news agency.

"Germany has taken on the role of the aimless blocker in the global fight against the existential climate crisis," she said.
Neubauer accused German Chancellor Friedrich Merz of deliberately making climate-friendly technologies such as heat pumps and electric cars more expensive.

"At the same time, the jobs and locations of the future are emerging in other places with bolder governments," she said.
The Paris Agreement, adopted in 2015, commits countries to limiting global warming to well below two degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. The UN climate conference runs through November 21.

FFF revived nation wide protests all over Germany. It is part of a global protest criticising that since Paris 2015 globally no major progress has been achieved.

Meet the public face of FFF in Germany, Luisa Neubauer age 29. She's the woman who is cited above.

Neubauer is 7 years older than Thunberg, so joined the movement as an adult student being 22 years old. She's got a Bachelor of Geography, right now doing her master. She is also a member of the Party "Die Grünen."

During her career there have been several controversies around Neubauer. In former times Neubauer had an Instagram account, which showed photos of destinations she's traveled unfiltered to the public.

A well known and conservative columnist named Don Alphonso (real name Rainer Meier) in 2019 then looked closer at the account. Alphonso is what you could call a professional Wadenbeißer, an ankle-biter. If he thinks something is wrong he can really bite, but contrary to many other conservatives he can also give good argument and proof why he choose to do so. Neubauer back then already was the public face of Germany's FFF branch. Don Alphonso did the math and identified amongst other destinations Canada, Hong Kong, Sweden, UK, Morocco, Indonesia, Scotland and Tanzania. He came to the conclusion that she at least generated 27 metric tons of CO2 emissions with these long range flights, or in other words the budget for 12 years.

Alphonso then openly criticised her for that and gave her the nick name Langstrecken-Luisa, which mean "Long range flight Luisa." Her reaction on this was to delete the photos, also saying she's now flying less than before. But otherwise that's it, no excuse but instead she tried to explain that doing co2 neutral travel is really hard to do and this would divert the attention from more serious problems of the climate change issue.

Later in a podcast with Kurt Krömer when being asked about her flight activity Neubauer said "Besser Doppelmoral als gar keine Moral", which roughly means "it is better having double standards than no morale at all." She argued that it is more important to be politically active and try to change structures for better instead only to contentrate on individual behaviour.

In 2023 then her boyfriend Louis Klamroth took over being the host of a political discussion show named "Hart, aber fair" (Hard, but fair) in public broadcasting TV. When this became public knowledge people criticised him for being probably not neutral when discussing climate change and that this relationship was only disclosed after he got the job.

And this is the German self-proclaimed Anti-Greta Naomi Seibt, 25 years old. A very old soul (probably from the 1930s) in a young, female body.

Seibt started her "career" around 2017 by always challenging FFF's positions, and propagating right wing nuts positions as the only truth.

She's one of these typical "a dime a dozen" right wing nuts podcasters nobody outside her own bubble takes even notice of, so outside of that bubble most Germans don't even know who she is or that she exists. And they definitely don't care at all.

She's generated around 110K followers so far with her preaching to the choir approach and describes herself as journalist.

In 2024 she moved to America, calling that Germany at the moment is to unsafe for her to live there. She's been in touch with American right wingers, openly supported Trump, was at his victory party. In the past she received grants from the Heartland Institute.

Elon Musk interacted with her on Twitter in 2024 over 12 times directly and 40 times with post's of Seibt.

In October 2025 Seibt officially applied for political asylum in the USA, stating that she's victim of political oppression due to her engagement for freedom of speech and her political stance. This is of course bullshit, she never was put on trial before court once nor ever faced investigations.

Here's her statement on social media why she's seeking refuge:

One of the first podcast she then appeared on was about 7 days ago... drum roll... Alex Jones Infowars. And of course Jones is lying, Seibt is by far means not the most famous journalist in Germany. Not even by a long shot. Nobody outside her bubble knows or listens to her at all.

Well I'm sorry for the Americans now having to deal with that nut case.

And if that national holiday ever gets moved to November 9th, it's a sure sign that the shit has hit the fan.

Well, I'm not. She's a product of American grift culture and enabled by a right-wing social media platform based in the US, so they should take her in. That's where she belongs.

The German parliament's budget committee has signed off on the budget presented by Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil (SPD). The exploding cost of Germany's welfare system is putting pressure on the state coffers — along with the billions of euros needed to rearm the Bundeswehr and continue support for Ukraine in its war of self defense against Russia.

The new borrowing of some 180 billion euros is the second-highest in the country's history — beaten only during the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be put to a final vote in the Bundestag.

The core €524.5 billion ($609,35 bn) budget includes more than €97.7 billion in new loans — 8 billion more than the budget experts from the center-right and center-left coalition government had envisaged just a few weeks ago.

But there's also an additional €82 billion of debt, which will be used to upgrade the Bundeswehr, invest in the country's ailing infrastructure, and in climate protection measures. That money is exempt from the statutory "debt brake."

Previously unknown organ works by Johann Sebastian Bach have been presented and performed in Germany for the first time in 320 years.
Germany's Culture Minister Wolfram Weimer called the discovery of the two pieces a "great moment for the world of music".
They first caught the attention of the Peter Wollny, a researcher of the German composer and musician, in 1992 when he was cataloguing Bach manuscripts at the Royal Library of Belgium in Brussels.
The organ works - the Chaconne in D minor BWV 1178 and Chaconne in G minor BWV 1179 - were undated and unsigned. Mr Wollny spent the next 30 years working to confirm the identity of the pieces.
They were performed at the St Thomas Church in Leipzig, where Bach is buried and where he worked as a cantor for 27 years.
The two pieces were played by Dutch organist Ton Koopman, who said he was proud to be able to perform them for the first time in 320 years.
He said the pieces were "of a very high quality" and would be "a great asset for organists today, as they are also suitable for smaller organs".
They are believed to have been composed early in Bach's career, when he was working as an organ teacher in the town of Arnstadt in Thuringia.
Mr Wollny, who is now the director of the Bach Archive in Leipzig, said they displayed several characteristics unique to the composer.
"Stylistically, the works also contain features that can be found in Bach's works from this period, but not in those of any other composer," he said.
They are believed to have been written down in 1705 by one of Bach's pupils, Salomon Günther John.
At a presentation of the works, Mr Wollny said he was "99.99% sure that Bach had written the two pieces" and they have now been added to the official catalogue of his works.

The British tea time is well known and the Japanese tea ceremony world famous, but did you know that there's also a lesser well known but equally deeply rooted tea culture in East Frisian in Germany?

The American fast food franchise "Five Guys" failed in Germany and rumors are the German branch is going to file for bankruptcy soon.

Five Guys started to expand in German in 2017, and has at the moment 35 locations. Rumors are that the company lost around 60 million Euros since its start. So far the mother company paid the bills, which is why they are still operational here.

Five Guys didn't adapt their concept to the German market, they just went over here with the American business model. And this failed now. Other burger joints are doing pretty well here.

Reasons why Five guys failed are as follows:

* too high price tag for a quality which is perceived to being nearer McDonald's than a local, domestic burger joint
* the interior is looking sterile, too clean, not inviting to spend time but designed to drive customers out as quickly as possible. The red and white tiles do remind many people of a train station toilet or subway station, not exactly the ambience people want to eat.
* the quality of Five Guys burgers' is considered to be a little bit better above average at best, so not a great improvement
* for around the same price tag people can in many cities go to a local burger joint, some operated by former US soldiers which stayed here, instead which has a way friendlier interior with actual waiters instead of self-service, much better food quality and overall having a way better dining experience.

And that's the problem: Five Guys failed to position itself in the German burger market in a good spot. The quality of food and dining experience puts Five Guys much nearer to McDonald's or Burger King while charging prices, for which many local burger joints often deliver way better quality and dining experience.

So either Five Guys has to raise its standards, or instead drop the prices and start competing with McDonald's and such. Both is unlikely to happen.

This is even more worse for Five Guys, since the overall market share of system gastronomy in Germany from 2017 to 2024 increased from 36 to 56%. Five Guys failed to cat a piece of that cake.
