Model says her face was edited with AI to look white: ‘It’s very dehumanizing’
A Taiwanese American model says a well-known fashion designer uploaded a digitally altered runway photo that made her appear white.

In a TikTok about the incident that has been viewed 1.8m times in the last week, Shereen Wu says Michael Costello, a designer who has worked with Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, and Celine Dion, posted a photo to his Instagram from a recent Los Angeles fashion show. The photo depicts Wu in the slinky black ballgown that she walked the runway in – but her face has been changed, made to appear as if she is a white woman.

I wouldn't even consider it good photoshopping.

It's "based," gets its info from Xitter, and is guided by Elmo -- what could possibly go wrong?

Oh, and I thought the jury took only 4 hours to return their verdict, not 8.

(Point of information -- and this applies to all news reports, not just those on Xitter -- he doesn't face up to 110 years in prison. That's the sum of all the maximum possible sentences for each offence of which he was convicted, served consecutively. But the judge is bound by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, so the actual sentence will be nothing like that ).

So stopping AI from scraping Xitter wasn't about protecting user privacy. It was about protecting value for Xitter.

Not that they were probably actually deleted, but god I am glad I used a script to delete tweets before deleting my account.

Also, I wonder if grok is a copywrited term.

In July, software engineer Julian Joseph became the latest victim of the tech industry’s sweeping job cuts. Facing his second layoff in two years, he dreaded spending another couple months hunched over his laptop filling out repetitive job applications and blasting them into the void.

Joseph specializes in user interface automation and figured someone must have roboticized the unpleasant task of applying for jobs. Casting about online, he came upon a company called LazyApply. It offers an AI-powered service called Job GPT that promises to automatically apply to thousands of jobs “in a single click.” All he had to fill in was some basic information about his skills, experience, and desired position.
After Joseph paid $250 for a lifetime unlimited plan and installed LazyApply’s Chrome extension, he watched the bot zip through applications on his behalf on sites like LinkedIn and Indeed, targeting jobs that matched his criteria. Thirsting for efficiency, he installed the app on his boyfriend’s laptop, too, and he went to bed with two computers furiously churning through reams of applications. By morning, the bot had applied to close to 1,000 jobs on his behalf.

The tool wasn’t perfect. It appeared to guess the answers to questions on some applications, with sometimes confused results. But in a brute force kind of way, it worked. After LazyApply completed applications for some 5,000 jobs, Joseph says he landed around 20 interviews, a hit rate of about a half percent. Compared to the 20 interviews he’d landed after manually applying to 200 to 300 jobs, the success rate was dismal. But given the time Job GPT saved, Joseph felt it was worth the investment.

Um...what?

Thousands of people have just been ghosted by their online girlfriends.

Forever Voices, an artificial intelligence company that launched a myriad of celebrity AI “virtual girlfriend” chatbots via Telegram earlier this year, went offline on Oct. 23 after the company founder and CEO was arrested, News Nation reported.
John Meyer, CEO of Forever Voices, was reportedly taken into custody in October for allegedly setting boxes on fire on the balcony of his high-rise apartment in downtown Austin, Texas, local news outlet KXAN reported. He was charged with arson and terroristic threats and his bond was set at $120,000, according to court records.

Before the service went dark and Meyer was arrested, the Forever Voices account posted a series of bizarre conspiracy theories about the FBI, former President Donald Trump and “rogue CIA terrorists” on X (formerly Twitter).

There was nothing in Drew Ortiz's author biography at Sports Illustrated to suggest that he was anything other than human.

"Drew has spent much of his life outdoors, and is excited to guide you through his never-ending list of the best products to keep you from falling to the perils of nature," it read. "Nowadays, there is rarely a weekend that goes by where Drew isn't out camping, hiking, or just back on his parents' farm."

The only problem? Outside of Sports Illustrated, Drew Ortiz doesn't seem to exist. He has no social media presence and no publishing history. And even more strangely, his profile photo on Sports Illustrated is for sale on a website that sells AI-generated headshots, where he's described as "neutral white young-adult male with short brown hair and blue eyes."
AI-generated sports journalists. Amazing.

Naziman aside, you just know that when random animals with translators who've learned things like basic arithmetic and can hold conversations about the beauty of a sunset or whether or not the soup needs more salt, you just know a dog is going to say, "So hey, I love you, wanna bang?"
