Dog the Bounty Hunter, plus several other people including a rancher and a former FBI person say Brian Laundrie was likely never in the Carlton swamp. They say he is likely somewhere on or near the Appalachian trail. That is an area he is familiar with. He survived in the wild there for 3 months on his own in the past. It is a huge wilderness area of mountains, with few roads and fewer people (once you get off the main trail). Many people speculate that Brian's family went on a "camping trip" in a brand new camper, just to position him in the wilderness where he would not be found. A camper that size can hold plenty of survival supplies. Enough supplies to last a long time.

Dog (Duane Chapman) has a new lead. It has been reported on multiple news channels. The Laundries including Brian registered at Fort DeSoto Campground from 9/1 to 9/3/2021 and again from the 9/8 to 9/9. Dog has the paperwork. Strange, as this is a small island, with lots of people and nowhere to hide. But it does have lots of small boats, and several large boat docks. It is right on the Gulf coast, with easy access to the Gulf of Mexico, and all the Florida islands on the Gulf side of Florida. Dog interviewed witnesses, and they think 3 people entered the Laundrie camp, but only two left on 9/9. So the theory is Brian Laundrie escaped in some kind of boat. This location is near St. Petersburg and not far from Tampa, but off-shore. Given that it has been more than 2 weeks, he could be anywhere a boat can go in the Gulf area.

The picture of the guy in Mexico that looks like Laundrie isn't him any more than the guy spotted in Canada was. I hear it's warm and sunny this time of year in Panama where lots of American "refugees" go.

The common perception is that bounty hunters are above the law—and in fact, they are not subject to many of the constitutional amendments that govern law enforcement. Bounty hunters are not bound by the constitutional protections against unreasonable search and seizures under the Fourth Amendment, the privilege against self-incrimination under the Fifth Amendment, or the right to counsel under the Sixth Amendment. For the most part, the industry draws its legal standing from Taylor v. Taintor, a 1872 Supreme Court ruling that allows bounty hunters to, among other things, “pursue [a fugitive] into another State; arrest him on the Sabbath; and, if necessary, break and enter his house for that purpose.”

Dog the Bounty Hunter said his tip line for the Gabby Petito case has gotten thousands of hits, but he won't share info with the police (msn.com)

He's encouraging people to keep calling 1-833-TELL-DOG with tips. The FBI is asking the public to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI with tips concerning Laundrie or Petito.

He should change his nick to Horndog because he is always trying to horn in on tragedy for profit.
