Linden Lab is reducing land prices and buy fees.

You might look into some of those 5L 1 hour, 60L Weekend sort of groups. If your product can fit that. I always see a bunch of people show up when I go to one of those.
Events are all over the place these days. They cost a lot to join. One has to present new stuff every time for peanuts. Not my beer.
SL is only a hobby.

This is the notice that was deposited in my SPAM folder yesterday reflecting the increase in annual premium:
At least they sent you an email. I never get any kind of missive from them.

1. Your spam filter perhaps?
2. Wrong email address in the settings?
3. Wrong settings in your SL preferences?

TiL that there's more than one kind of annual subscription now and the one I've been paying is being hit with a 20% price rise (if I've understood what's going on here). My next renewal is in January so I have a bit of time to think about this. In the last few years I've dumped all the premium accounts bar one and that's only been kept for the cash outs. I need to pay a bit of attention and work out if I'm still making a profit after their latest price hike. If not, then it will be time to close the marketplace stores and wave goodbye to second life.
Every time I see LL do something I think is bad for their survival I remember back to the days when the grid used to go down frequently and there was one login time where the message was (I'm paraphrasing here) to stop being online and go outside. Too many people have taken this advice to heart methinks and LL is trying to position itself as a luxury item when it's best days are well in the past.
Hey ho.

Don't know and tbh I no longer care. LL fucked me over one too many times for me to even pretend to be interested any more. I get all my SL news from here.

eta: and I've just gone looking at their pricing page and despite it saying how much they'll charge you monthly for an annual subscription... errr 'membership', they don't actually say how much the annual rate it. My first (and as usual uncharitable) thought was that this is what scammers do - hide the actual pricing until it's almost too late to back out.
After 20 years I can still nod and point out this is so terribly on brand for them.

Second Life is fun despite Linden Lab. Not because of them.
They are pretty much a bit clueless in every field. That has been the case as long as I know the place. 19+ years now.

This is really quite crap. The increase from $72 to $99 was worse but I suppose we did get a couple of small benefits. $119.88 brings absolutely nothing though. If I could have a 4096 parcel I'd be okay with it I suppose. But not damned thing. I'll let it ride for now, I think my renewal is on the 7th.

I honestly think this will really hurt the lab.... the value of what people get for premium is dubious for the money and their user base is very price conscious. Regardless of my personal feelings, I'd be shocked if this was good for their bottom line. I honestly think if they had cut prices and increased prim allowances on land, they'd have gotten enough new subscribers to make it very profitable since this kind of business is heavy on volume.

I think I'm going to keep my premiums as long as I still have enough L$ in my banker alt I don't need to spend any USD. Then I'll give up all my mainland and become a homeless bum.

I would be happy with a bunch more prims per LI.

Hey ho.
I know people who very well see it as a necessary social and emotional outlet for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately for Linden Lab these people tend to be lower class, and they're not a majority. I'll stick around until the boat sinks but I sure as shit am not Going to tolerate Linden Lab shooting themselves in the foot on repeat.

I don't subscribe annually, never made enough to pay for it like that. But I sure as shit won't now.

I would be happy with a bunch more prims per LI.
You mean Li per m^2, and same sister.

yeah troubleshooting email is easy. Getting the lab to send you mail is impossible. I didn’t get email notices and announcements between 2004, just after tier was introduced, until post pandemic despite tickets and phone calls and freakin in person conversations at the office. Then suddenly, late 2021, they started arriving. Go figure.
