Don't worry, the Linux Foundation has launched the Open Metaverse Foundation, now The Metaverse (TM) will *finally* take off!

Now for sure *somebody* will finally tell us what The Metaverse (TM) is going to be!

There are several initiatives into this direction, I think. Funny how none of them seems to take into account what is already there, much less learn from it, because none of them even know what is already there. And they all see themselves as pioneers in something that has never been done before. Like decentralised, distributed virtual worlds. Running FLOSS server applications even.
