Honestly, the official forums didn't really feel like it had much more during the few days I went there recently.

Just the same dozen or so people loudly flooding every thread with the most anal retentive Karen tier annoyances.

At the time it felt like it was all threads about how awful PBR was on their Pentium 4 Laptops and how it was going to kill SL.

At the time it felt like it was all threads about how awful PBR was on their Pentium 4 Laptops and how it was going to kill SL.

You left out the people trying to compare Second Life to everything under the sun - including modern games and software for which there is pretty much nothing to compare beyond 'has a character creator' or 'has some social aspects' and how Linden Lab must take cues from such things or have Second Life die in obscurity.

Goddess forbid someone be against 'progress for the sake of progress' or other such absolute nonsense.

I hit up the first one. Not bad, peaceful and quiet. It's not "an experience" a professional for-pay designer would create, but still a solid 8, stretching to 9 for someone who pays attention and puts thought into it.

The thing I miss the most about being banned from the SL forums is that I feel like I'm out of the loop now, I wouldn't have known about PBR or the child avi fiasco without the forums.

And half a dozen suspensions in 14 years warrants a perma ban? Sure I had dozens of warnings too, but seriously?

I loved the hot threads, every time i checked, there would be dozens of messages to read and reply to.

Then some tight ass mod would lock the thread, and you would have to wait a few days for the next one to take off.

It didn't matter what the topic was, as long as people were engaged and posting.

I was a little surprised, because the trigger for it didn't seem particularly egregious, but maybe someone just decided that you were a little work-intensive for the mods?

No, I only ever posted on one alt, Phorumities, but it didn't take long for the regulars to figure out it was me.

My being banned really made no sense. They never even removed the "offensive" post.

I'm guessing the Lindens and Moles collectively decided that it was just time for me to go.

I lost track of how many warnings Quartz Mole had given me. I guess I hit the magic ban number.

In the old days I'd probably have been banned from inworld too.

Of course the way SL is failing, I'm sure they wouldn't want to lose even one paying customer
