Maybe it's just me... but does anyone miss the old school last names in SL? I know they're returning, but still, there is nothing like looking at an old school group with them gorgous last names LOL.

I mean, come on ''Resident" LOL.

I miss it. Whenever I saw someone who took one of those weird arbitrary surnames and made a fun wordplay out of it for their name, I knew that person was someone I wanted to meet.

Everyone will be able to switch - they did say that it'll be quite expensive though!

Will we get SL name change options?
There are some more back-end changes to SL which need to be made before Last Names can make a return (actually, it’s really name changes that are the hard part), but we are working on it and hope to have it ready later in 2019.

I think it will be for premium residents only paying a small fee to change it.

And will it be possible to not have any last name?
As I've previously mentioned, Dysfunctional Resident works, Unreal Resident is real and Hypothetical Resident exists.
And when you are all lagged out, blame Lag Frenzy.

Yeah, I remember something about "oh people don't want to pick a name so they stop at that page" but like I really doubt if you were put off by that you were going to stay in SL very long anyway.

Whereas now it probably takes about six hours to come up with a letter/number combination that hasn't been used already.

I feel the same. Usually I get bored of games after about 3 months, except sims, I got bored of that after a month and here on SL still playing 12 years later lol.

Either we are getting very rare or I’m only friends with newer players. My friends list is almost entirely “_______ Resident”

I would use “display names only” if the viewer reliably let me do that, but it still insists on showing me both names in a bunch of locations and I don’t like the clutter, So I use legacy only with display names disabled everywhere.

Heh, I loved the name picking part as it made me wonder what sort of background avatar named in certain way would have. Best named one is Irrelevant Writer and I am now upset I never seen potential of Resident . However, there is a finite lost of combinations you can go with so this is why we have xxsugaro0satan88xx or such...

I would prefer the lists back than having to pick both parts myself.
