You know I love ya Jupiter, but a LOT of this reads as "old man yells at cloud".

Every group or groups has norms and expectations. You change to the group -the group does not change to you.

It's possible to simply do your own thing within the tastes etc of the larger group ...I tend to do my own thing -but I do it within the confines of what I know people will like. Because banging your head against group tastes and expectations is a sure-fire way to be in a never-ending state of frustration.

You mention sex there:
a)I don't believe the current crop of folks in opensim even HAS sex, they mostly seem to go around and go to parties. You go through all the adult sims on opensimworld and you rarely find people having sex. By "rarely" I mean 99% of the time except for the one guy one encounters who expects a virtual blowjob simply for saying 'hi' in Private Message. Caveat: I don't even mean "folks aren't having sex with me" -I mean "folks aren't having sex period" ...I've started to feel like they all hear I'm coming and then run off to some other sim!

b)If you want to attract people to have sex -you have to be attractive. No -sorry, Ruth2 isn't going to cut it, just simply straight up. Among other reasons the head is still the original Avastar head. And considering the complexity of modelling heads that is unlikely to change. Ruth2 aside, the primary rule is that for slex (particularly casual slex) you either have to know and accept the norms of what's considered attractive or settle for slexing people you have a personal bond with (in other words: friends with benefits). If people want Bikers you're gonna attract less flies if you run around looking like Conan or Hugh Hefner or Superman or Captain Kirk or...

...that's just people, that's just how it is. Interpersonal interactions 101.

Also, I do the "walking out of parties" / "walking into parties" thing at least 33% of the time (and every time I go to event plaza on osgrid). In my 13 years on opensim the amount of shit I've gotten for that is: zilch. It isn't clear to me why you're getting so much hassle over it, but I think there has to be something else going on.

You post long, detailed and usually well-thought posts which piss off the ADD crowd; maybe they don't so much care about how you enter a party but they are venting already-existing annoyance with something or another you've written?

Or not -but it feels to me like that specifically is down to clashing personalities more than anything else.

Anyone remember when I used to be an opensim evangelist? No? Because that died a death back on SLU....around 2016? 2017?

There's also the same kinds of toxicity over there that there is in SL, but magnified by the fact that there are so few people. "The fighting's so vicious because the stakes are so small" more or less.

I'm out there for some pre-existing friends but yeah...I rarely mention the possibility of going out there to any-one any more.

Additionally, I've suspected for years that a large number of people in opensim are there because their personalities don't allow them to do well in SL.

Not everyone, of course. Not counting myself, I could rattle off the names of a half a dozen people who do well in both SL and Opensim; but the opensim loudmouths? They don't seem to be able to cut it in SL. There's a lot of "a big fish in a small pond" going on -always has been, I suspect.

So if people are giving you shit, take a moment to factor in the degree you may be dealing with a disordered personality. Speaking from experience, you'll still be aggravated but perspective helps.

I was chatting with a guy a few days ago, one Inhad been hit up by on another account previously, but basically, he mentioned that there isn't any sort of pregnancy HUD on OS grid, which was surprising, because they seem popular in SL.

He mentiomed it was too expensive to pay someone to script it.

The conversation has me considering trying to make something basic and put it out there. Heck, I already have essentially done half the work because I was working for a bit on an RLV shape change HUD that could be controlled by another person with a remote and another one to interface with existing pregnancy huds for adding mensturation effects and needs.

Pretty much everything else is just timers.

For further clarification, Khamon is not welcome in some arenas, e.g. Gorean sims, because he is not human. He has been "asked" to leave various functions because he doesn't wear the shoes. He has received exactly two inworld sexual invitations in the mode of "if you ever think you might want," or, three if bloody bondage counts. But I don't fault people the narrow boxes they require everyone to fit into because they always have one big "not my cup of tea" container for the people they refuse to accept. Feeling a bit left behind and lonely at times is no reason for me to conform to their expectations.

The flip side of that, though, is that I have learned over the years to either tailor myself to fit into their tastes in a way that is a compromise between me and them or move on to people who I can fit in with without discomfort. Give and take is always required and usually isn't a problem.

My dance card is almost always full, so I don't worry too much about people like the Goreans who would be too difficult to accomodate.
