I played that with the expectation that I'd agree with whatever I saw. In a kind of 'let's see the crazy directed in a good way' way. But no. Cruise is an ass. A terrorizing type of 'boss' (he is listed as a producer, so maybe he is a boss, I've no idea how movies are set up).

Apparently, from the words screamed and yelled, this wasn't the first warning. So . . . fire them already. Or say that without screaming it. Either or. Screaming it makes him sound oddly powerless (no, seriously, it does. It morphed from 'he'd be a terrible person to work for' to 'does this guy actually have any power to fire anyone?' right around the part where he was screaming about how he'd warned them before - if you had the power, use the power).

Eh, whatever, I'm not a screaming/yelling type of person.

Funny how I'd gone into that expecting a kind of 'yay! scream at those assholes breaking the rules!' and never got close to that kind of reaction. Ah well.

Mmmmm...hmmm, all whie allowing non-high risk groups to infect high-risk groups
A top Trump appointee repeatedly urged top health officials to adopt a "herd immunity" approach to Covid-19 and allow millions of Americans to be infected by the virus, according to internal emails obtained by a House watchdog and shared with POLITICO.

“There is no other way, we need to establish herd, and it only comes about allowing the non-high risk groups expose themselves to the virus. PERIOD," then-science adviser Paul Alexander wrote on July 4 to his boss, Health and Human Services assistant secretary for public affairs Michael Caputo, and six other senior officials.
For instance, Alexander acknowledges in a May 30 email that a draft statement from the CDC about how Covid-19 was disproportionately affecting minority populations was "very accurate," but he warned HHS and CDC communications officials that "in this election cycle that is the kind of statement coming from CDC that the media and Democrat [sic] antagonists will use against the president." The problems were "due to decades of democrat neglect," Alexander alleged.

But ...

Herd immunity is a win/win strategy for the people in our government (and populace) who view the elderly, handicapped and people on disability as "blood suckers" as well as people who are racist.

Was the Trump administration just inept or were they flat assed evil, full on 666 and deliberately let the crisis get out of hand in order to kill off the people they perceived as those who were unwanted because of their race in America or were perceived as "free loaders" (like the elderly, handicapped and disabled)?

Thinking of my uncle who said Nazis were right to eradicate deaf people.

Let's not forget that when *they* get it they avail themselves of only the very best medical care. No, they were not inept. It has all been very deliberate. If you look back to very, very early onset of the pandemic they were calling for people to wear masks. As soon as they figured out WHO was dying the story changed.

(he is listed as a producer, so maybe he is a boss, I've no idea how movies are set up).
Producers in TV and film are the people who organize a production project. That includes starting it, hiring directors, writers, etc., and getting financing. Typically they work for the production company, but most anyone can get a producer credit if they are involved enough. For Cruise it could be that he's kicking in some of his own money to make the film, separate from his earnings as an actor. The four Marvel writers who created most of the characters in the comics days got "Executive Producer" credits in the MCU films. I don't think they were heavily involved in making the films, but it was their source material, so they got a credit.

Where the heck do people like this even come from?

They are being sued. THIS is the kind of company that McConnell wants to protect from lawsuits related to Covid before signing another bill.

I posted about it awhile ago, but basically they forced people to work while sick, protected themselves by retreating to another area, then made wagers on how many would fall ill.

In my opinion, these snakes are on a comparable level with the managers of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory who locked doors so workers couldn't take unsupervised breaks and in which a fire took 126 lives. This kind of crap helped lead to labor laws.

He invited 900, 70 rsvp'd and even less actually showed up Of those that did show, the majority did not wear masks, except Santa. He ended up cancelling his speech and is now in quarantine himself.

Well that's a fucking boring looking party. No wonder nobody wanted to show up.

We didn't do Christmas parties at work when I was with Boeing. Instead we had a holiday potluck, where people put out food in the conference room and the managers supplied the big meat dishes. Then we grazed from lunchtime to mid-afternoon, and people took off early for our Christmas Eve to New Year's company shut-down.
