Just think that Cruz has far bigger issues than what Jones thinks about him - and the whole 'Terrorist' and sudden let's be strong against Russia is just his way of trying to close the barn door after the cows have all left.
Because now its Sedition officially? Cruz is so implicated [along with a lot of other sitting members of Congress].
The Justice Department has been following the standard organized crime prosecution strategy: start with the little fish, and work your way up the food chain. So the first arrests and prosecutions were the idiots who shared their Capitol break-in on social media. Some of them talked to the FBI, because they got scared they could go to jail, and about 700 of them have. The ones that talked provided info to go after the next level of organizers. Next they went after the rally organizers. Now they've arrested a bunch of Proud Boys, who hung out with Trump's friend Roger Stone.
On the Congressional side they have been doing the same thing, calling on witnesses, and handing them over for contempt of Congress if they refuse to talk or hand over documents. Justice has finally gotten high enough to indict for "Seditious Conspiracy". That's a gun pointed at all the people who haven't yet been called to testify. "Talk, or you might be next to be charged with this". Even if they are not convicted, just being charged can ruin a political career, or be great ammunition for whoever runs against them.
