I may be changing my opinion on Musk's ownership of Twitter...

I thought Rodger Stone was in jail.

Anyway, does Elon have any control in Twitter officially yet? It sounds like the deal isn't official and I saw at least one suggestion maybe he won't go through with it.

No. Won't stop me from taking any chance to dump on Stone.

Elon Musk's "idea."

Billionaires have no problem publishing their opinion. And I, only slightly above a peon, can just start a blog.

Elon Musk's idea is quite justified. It is very difficult to express one's opinion and remain unpunished in today's world. Unfortunately, freedom of speech and democracy in social networks rapidly continue to lose meaning and power.
Oh geez. You realize how absurd you look joining the forum JUST to be an Elon Musk bootlicker? I also can tell you have no concept of what freedom of speech is or how it changed through history. And feel free to tell us what opinions you think you weren't allowed to express on Twitter...

Ok, I will totally take the bait on this one post new account.

There is a vast chasm between freedom to voice one's opinion, in terms of the government not creating laws against you, and a privately held business entity allowing literal, provable LIES to spread in its space.

You are free to have an voice whatever opinion you want. But that does not....

* Make you opinion any level of fact, no matter how many liers tell you it is a fact.

* Mean anyone has to give a flying fuck about your "opinion".

* Mean that no one will redicule you for having an idiotic opinion, especially when you are going around screaming it from a bull horn as if it is anverifiable fact that everyone must believe.

* Mean people won't tell you to shut the fuck up and fuck off when your opinion causes actual harm to other people, directly or indirectly, especially when the "opposing opinion" causes no harm to anyone.

If Twitter, or Facebook, or Instagram, or Signal, or MySpace, or Youtube, or whatever, the privately held company wants to make a forum where people can only discuss their furry fetishes and everything else is an immidiately bannable offense, they would be 100% justifiable. It doesn't matter that you have opinions on pizza parlors in DC or Jewish Space Lasers, they can tell you to leave. Because they are their own privately held and run company.

If they want to tell people who shit on every minority group under the sun to fuck off, they can do that too.

If they want to tell people spreading lies about election fraud in the US to fuck off, they can do that too.

Fuckhead Musk is butthurt that his idiocy is not tolorated in the real world by real people and now he is abusing his power from his excess wealth to get revenge. Its pretty much that simple.

He is going to destroy the platform in the process, and potentially tank enough of his wealth that people start abs onding Tesla and his other projects as well, which frankly, would be the best outcome from all of this.

I wonder why we don't have many conservatives posting here? :)

There are some conservative posters who don't post often... it helps when they introduce themselves prior to just jumping into arguments and make more serious, non troll like arguments. I think this last one was sincere, but it did come off as a very childish, uninformed 1 liner...
