Do you honestly believe any candidate could do an entire overhaul of our very flawed medical industry complex in their first year (or any year)? This is kinda the problem...there is no easy button for this dumb bullshit.

Medicare isn't some strange extra-terrestrial creature that we need to slowly integrate into the human race.

We already know how it works and have a system to deliver it to the people who use it the most.

We already have a system in place to pay for it and most of us have paid for it for years.

We didn't need to wring our hands for half a century before we destroyed our manufacturing industries because we knew that labor would have the time to mount an effective revolt and kill the plans.

Flip the switch and everyone will adapt. Shock and Awe, Baby.

Did you even read the article? She said that she wouldn't even * try * until her third year. I'm guessing that you only read the headline, and assumed that I expected her to get it passed right away, like I didn't expect it to be a lengthy process like the ACA.

It's not even a question of how it could be implemented.

It's the fact that this is the beginning of the backtracking. It's not unreasonable to suspect that m4a will have been completely dismissed by her by the time the primaries are over.

It would be one thing if she were saying "we'll fight from day one and even if it takes three years, I'm not going to stop fighting for it." -but that's not the case.

She's veering for the center, and that's absolutely the last thing that we need -period.

You're assuming Medicare, in its current incarnation, can properly scale like that.

I would much prefer M4A be done right, with a lot of thought and consideration for how it's going to work at that scale, than be rushed out, half-baked, in order to expeditiously check off a bullet point.

I don't assume that, personally speaking. I assume that figuring out scaling issues would be part of the process of making it universal.

I don't expect, say, Bernie to jump into office, snap his fingers and then POOF we have m4a and a pony in every pot. There will be huge, huge amounts of fighting and conflict. Just like there was for Obamacare. It would be an ongoing fight.

But I expect that Bernie wouldn't roll over on the issue before the primaries -I expect he wouldn't roll over at all. I expect if he had to fight four years, he'd fight four years.

He isn't walking into that battle anticipating defeat.

That's my biggest problem with Warren; I see her handing over too much ground, far too early.

She's going full McCain -I wonder who she's gonna get to play Palin's role.
This article just makes me want to throw up. Obamacare was paving the way 10 years ago. Those roads never get paved. There will always be some crisis to keep our minds off of roadwork. We will lower the age of Medicare to 62, you will now be able to put your children and grandchildren on your existing plan, and 1 Trillion will be spent to initiate a nationwide dial-a-nurse network.

Ahh Warren. Purity politics giveth and purity politics taketh away. I suspect shitting on the base for TYT fauxgressive points ain’t gonna work out like she planned now that she’s stopped promising ponies.

When you consider the tongue bath CNN and other outlets have been giving him, no, it's not surprising. But the media isn't going to spend much time reporting on this:

Another fraud lying to siphon off votes. Most of the people he claimed to be black aren't, and many of them didn't even endorse him. One of them is a Sanders campaign co-chair.

CBS News Battleground Tracker: Buttigieg rises in Iowa and New Hampshire, Biden back atop delegate hunt
CBS has provided a wealth of information, including a new Iowa poll that finds Biden back on top at (22%), Buttigieg surging at (21%) and two candidates buckling under the weight of being too liberal: Sanders at (22%) and Warren dipping to (18%).

Also: Medicare for All: Support slips; Democrats eager for details on cost
Perhaps Democrats just aren't ready to take on the burden of how to pay less for health care?

Is there a Democratic candidate that you do like? I mean, someone who stands a chance at winning against Trump?
