More importantly, though, you've certainly given that impression to the landowners and the estate manager, and it's their views that matter in this context.
Interesting concept. Clearly they believe that only their views matte - and that is the problem. The truth matters, and the Weezles should have spoken to me to attempt to determine the truth, rather than jumping to their own conclusions and acting upon them. That is the behavior that I seek to deter.

Here is a good example. I am transgender, and the law where I live says very clearly that gender is determined by "innate sense of gender-identity" and that people "have the right to use the gender-segregated facility that they feel is appropriate". Agree or disagree, it's the law. Despite the law, numerous bar-owners were asserting what they believed were their property-rights, and were still hassling transwomen about using the female-restrooms in their bar. "It's my bar, and I can tell you which restroom you are allowed to use, and which restroom you are not allowed to use, and if you don't like it, you can get the hell out." So I went to a place that had expressed these views, let the confrontation happen, and blew it up. It took months for me to twist the police-brass arms to press criminal charges, but they eventually did. The Republican District Attorney dropped the charges for a promise not to do it again. But word of mouth spread the story from bar to bar, and the illegal behavior stopped completely.

Yes, but the law where you live on trans-rights doesn't really have much to do with the fact that, whatever you say people who know you would make of all this, your words here -- which are all we have to go on -- are giving readers of this thread, or at least ones who've bothered to respond, a very different impression.

You might not like it, but it's clear from the responses that's what's happened.

We're maybe the wrong audience -- most of the regulars here, including me, are, or have been, landowners or estate managers, and we've all had customers we've decided are going to be more trouble than the rent is worth, so several aspects of your account of events have, I suspect, set alarm bells ringing for some of us.

Kimba, there is a good reason why RL rental laws are so strict- it's simply rather difficult to live without a roof over your head, and the eviction protection is about keeping people safe.

SL rentals are not essential for living. That contract is closer to buying a tabloid from a kiosk, and then finding out you don't like the content.
Unless it's hundreds of dollars, shrug it off and let it go. Getting riled up is not worth the effort.
The time and energy you are spending here being angry, could be spent decorating your new SL house.

Life is way too short to be upset over ten bucks in a game.

Kimba is a leftist communist, and here's why:

* behaves like the typical leftist special snowflake
* complains about being always discriminated by others
* wants to rob people of their hard earned money, so does not respect private property
* thinks that contracts are non-binding and can be bend by him to his own liking without consensus of the other party, which is typical for a communist who wants to redefine the world

If you got a cold crappy hamburger from your local rl life restaurant for $10 and they wouldn't refund you, you could try and take the "moral high ground" and expose them. But the best you could probably do is put a bad review on yelp or facebook. No one would read your small novel about it.

Not if you consider the possibility that the OP is one of those "Fuck your feelings" people. Then it makes perfect sense to throw it in the OP's face.
aaaaaaaahhhhh -ok. Not what I'd have done, but I can totally get behind it.

I know that, but you are not my target-audience. Alienating some of you was the cost of doing business. There is always a cost for committing activism.

Awwww
This whole thread made me feel smooshy and nostalgic. Rants, witty even biting replies, threats of reporting, derails, name dropping and chest puffing, more derails, worrisome comparisons to RL scenarios, gentle teasing and inside jokes, only to get back on topic again. Well written pages I can escape reality too.
This is what made me fall in love with you all those years ago.

You are missing the point entirely. Because the local-restaurant knows that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, they do not serve the bad burger in the first place. But if they do, they will always give you a replacement burger and say they are sorry, because they don't want your bad word-of-mouth hurting their business. This happens all the time with cold-fries: I complain about cold fries, they let me keep the cold fries, and bring hot fries to my table when they are ready. Then, sometimes, I will send a complaining email to the general manager, and they will give me a gift-card too. But the Weezles think they are immune from consumerism, and think they do not have to display a customer-service ideal or mindset.

Exactly what I was counting on, and they never let me down. Like a well-maintained Model-T. You crank it up, it goes. Thanks guys!
