Let's talk about Llama and Alpaca for a moment. First about LLama; this is Facebook's attempt on a chat bot like ChatGPT.

The code for this was shared, however the model and trained data not. But soon enough the training data was leaked mid of march this year.

The AI guys at Stanford then took the model, and fine tuned it, naming it Alpaca - meaning removed a lot of parameters.

As a result Alpaca is runnable on normal consumer grade hardware, even a Raspberry Pi will do, although a little bit slowly. It's not covering as much stuff as ChatGPT, but in certain areas this effort is on par with ChatGPT. The video shows Alpaca running on a Raspberry Pi in real time in the end at 4:20, and for such low end hardware it's running decently fast.

According to the scientists Llama is comparable with text-davinci-003, which was a stepping stone from ChatGPT 3 to 3.5. The fine tuning of the model did cost around 600 US$. The data model is around 4 GB.

I really shouldn't be allowed to play with this thing. So far, I've made ChatGPT:
  • "write a song about Alan Turning in the style of American Pie"
  • "write the first song of a high school musical in the style of H.P. Lovecraft"
  • "Ode to an Empty Fridge"
  • "a shakespearean sonnet about identity theft"
  • "A story about Sfink, an orphaned Drow raised by Dwarves"
Now I'm on to sea shanties... and had to share this one:
Come gather round, me hearties, and hear my tale of woe
Of pirates bold and fearless, who once sailed to and fro
They braved the storms and tempests, and battled on the seas
But one thing made them shiver, and brought them to their knees

It wasn't cannon fire or sharks that made them quake with fear
It wasn't even mutiny, or battles far and near
It was the rolling waves and swells that made their stomachs turn
And left them feeling helpless, and wishing they could learn

To conquer their seasickness, and stand upon the deck
To feel the wind upon their faces, and show they have no neck
But alas, their fate was sealed, and they were prone to spew
And every time they sailed away, they knew what they'd go through

They tried every remedy, from ginger root to rum
But nothing seemed to work, their misery was never done
They longed to be on solid ground, to leave the sea behind
But they were born to sail the waves, and couldn't change their mind

So now they're known as the seasick pirates, a sorry sight to see
Their faces green, their spirits low, they curse the rolling sea
But still they hoist the Jolly Roger, and sail into the sun
For despite their weak stomachs, they're pirates, every one.

Write a sea shanty about reluctant seasick pirates

ooo somebody do me do Khamon Fate in the geept and see what it says
Prompt: Tell me all about Khamon Fate in Second Life.

Khamon Fate is a resident or user in the virtual world of Second Life. Second Life is a popular online platform that allows users to create virtual avatars and interact with others in a vast, user-generated 3D environment. In this context, Khamon Fate is likely the username or virtual identity of a specific individual within Second Life.
As an AI language model, I don't have real-time information or access to specific user profiles within Second Life. Therefore, I cannot provide personal details or specific information about Khamon Fate's activities, creations, or interactions within the virtual world. The experiences and activities of users in Second Life can vary greatly, as the platform offers a wide range of possibilities, including socializing, exploring, creating and selling virtual items, participating in events, and more.
If you're looking to know more about Khamon Fate specifically or their contributions within Second Life, it would be best to connect with them directly within the platform or seek information from other Second Life community members who may have interacted with them.

"Tell me all about Khamon Fate" got, basically, "I dunno ......"

This experiment has convinced me that Cody and Innula's info is 100% accurate.

Who is Free Xue?

ChatGPT
Free Xue is the Second Life avatar name of a virtual activist and blogger who gained notoriety for being banned from the virtual world of Second Life. In 2006, Free Xue was banned from Second Life for organizing a virtual protest against the platform's rules and governance. The ban sparked a wider debate about virtual censorship and freedom of expression in virtual worlds. Free Xue continued to be an advocate for free speech and digital rights, and the ban was eventually lifted in 2008. The real-life identity of Free Xue has not been publicly disclosed.

Apparently I'm notorious! (and joined Second Life some years earlier than I actually did)
