Cats never take rejection personally. However, instead of thinking "Oh, you don't want me there, fuck you." I suspect it's more like this:

Cat: I want to sit here.

You: (move cat)

Cat: Hmm, I'm not where I want to be anymore, how odd. (moves back)

You: (move cat)

Cat: I'm not where I want to be. (moves back)

Rinse and repeat until cat simply doesn't want to be there anymore and goes somewhere else.

omg . That totally describes how it goes with me and Trouble or Miss Biscuit when one of them sits on my iPad while I’m trying to read!

Actually this could be a great way for super clingy cats who are maybe rescues or fosters to get that sort of warmth and attention they crave from the people watching them :>
