Can I justify upgrading from my iPhone 7?

Yeah, I've never warmed up to Android, probably just a matter of familiarity. I'm willing to pay more to lessen my learning curve.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S25, and an M4 Apple iPad Pro. I appreciate the merits of both. All of my phones except for one Nokia phone back in the aughts have been Samsung. I have nothing against the iPhone per se, but I love to customize my phone in very specific ways. Being totally in the Apple ecosystem has its plusses and minuses. It is perfect for my 75 year old mother, but it would drive me fairly nuts.

There is value in familiarity, and Samsung has gone to great lengths at least to make Android more intuitive with their own UI. You made the right choice for you.

Nah, I'm just cheap.

Plus, hype bores me.

My last one was a Galaxy A12, so a more basic one. I’m sure there are Android phones that are just as good as iPhones, maybe even better depending on how you use it, but I just prefer iOS for many reasons. For years I used Macs for work and then iPhones which made it easier. Just got used to it. Now, I take a lot of photos for work, and since I have an iPad, everything is smoother for transfers.

I do prefer the customization on android when it comes to making it all pretty. Even though iPhones have gotten better, it still sucks in that regard, but I can live without that.

It has nothing to do with hype. It’s almost never apple users who start up with that old debate. Not here, anyway.

Anyway, I’m in love with my phone at the moment. She’s beautiful and perfect, and she don’t care what the naysayers think 😘

Also, 2 out of 4 of my nieces and nephews in their twenties use iPhones. Ones is a photographer and the other is a photo director (on film sets). The android users, Ubisoft (I don’t know his title) and construction.

I think that often, people use a phone that will work well with the computer they use at home or work.

I really liked Samsung UI. Didn't like them stopping shipping security updates under a year later. I also have a grudge after a piece of shit $2500 fridge.

I'd still recommend Apple to older people just because they will take care of you.

:hellokitty:

I generally don't though.

While I think some Windows users could make the switch fairly successfully and enjoy their Linux experience, I know that there are plenty of others who wouldn't. And well....Linux has it's own quirks and drawbacks in various ways. Personally I think most Windows users would find it more useful to their needs to install some of the "traditional" open source tools and applications for various uses than going full hog on Linux. I do wonder how Microsoft ceasing Win10 updates will affect Windows users who either can't or don't want to get a computer that can handle Win11.

God, Linux people are relentless lol.

He's not wrong.....

I'm rockin' a Samsung S25 Ultra, but it turns out to be just generally pretty nice.
Lower end A32 for me, and ditto. The best experience I've ever had with an Android phone.

Well, the good news is that my iPhone 15 works just fine.

The bad news is that whatever the ATT rep did during my purchase has totally screwed up my login access to my ATT account. I log in, get to the Code Validation screen, and it's sending my code to a phone number I've never seen before.

My current android phone was $60 on sale, and it's fully functional in every respect necessary. You don't HAVE to go Apple.
Here in Europe most people have Android phones.
Apple is more religious stuff for the real believers.

I show myself out.

My mum got one of those SE models that retains the button. My sister liked it so much she did too. My iPhone 11 replacement will probably be an up to date iPhone SE.
I sure wish I'd know about the SE models with the button before I got my iPhone 16. Actually, my husband got my phone for me as a gift. I like the phone in general but I absolutely HATE facial recognition. I can never get to the phone, get recognized and hit the red button in time to take a call. It drives me nuts. I keep having to call everyone back. We looked into making it ring longer (right now it only rings four times) but we have Apple saying that it's the carrier and AT&T saying "sorry", there is nothing they can do to increase the number of rings before goes to Voice Mail. :banghead: Consequently, I miss about 90% of the calls that come in.

I don’t use facial recognition (just the pin) and I answer calls by just swiping. Can you live without facial recognition for whatever else you use it for? If so, just disable it.

Also, yeah, how many rings is carrier side. Used to bug me because I often felt I had to answer for work even when I didn’t recognize the number, but more and more I compare it to someone knocking on my door. Am I expecting your visit (call)? No? Then leave a message, or text me before hand to see if I’m busy. Friends know you and your own phone “etiquette”, they adjust…

Apple store has an impressive trade in policy, worth a swing by.
