In an executive order signed on Wednesday in his first day in office, Biden disbanded Donald Trump’s presidential 1776 Commission and withdrew a report it released Monday.
In its report, which Trump hoped would be used in classrooms across the nation, the commission glorifies the country’s founders, plays down America’s role in slavery, condemns the rise of progressive politics and argues that the civil rights movement ran afoul of the “lofty ideals” espoused by the Founding Fathers.

The panel, which included no professional historians of the United States, complained of “false and fashionable ideologies” that depict the country’s story as one of “oppression and victimhood.” Instead, it called for renewed efforts to foster “a brave and honest love for our country.”

The serious answer to your non serious question is it is illegal to threaten to kill anyone.
.
That only talks in general. If someone just goes up to a random person they will probably be investigated for saying it. However if you say it about the president you are actually breaking the law. So is a former president always in the second category or can they move to the first category?

I'm not so sure this line of reasoning holds together very well. You may be staring into static, forming connections. Not all your posts, just this one is, uh, very speculative.
I am excited for half the Rs to form another party.

What laws, state or federal, are you breaking, and what points do the prosecution have to prove to jury to persuade them to convict?

Obviously I don't know the US law on threats, except it's complicated (overly so compared with English law, and that's not simple) but there's this as a guide

and I know that the Supreme Court has heard several First Amendment cases over the years that have set major precedents involving people who've threatened to kill the president (or the governor or mayor).

So I need to know what the defendant has threatened to do to whom, and under what circumstances, and what laws are alleged to have been broken before I can begin to understand the question.

There's this, from 2016, which is quite interesting.

He truly is a recalcitrant fibspinner and troublemaker, isn't he?
He, better than anyone, should remember what worked for Trump back in 2016, and now he's making a bid to inherit the MAGA crowd from its creator, since he's likely to be busy in court for the foreseeable future, even if he isn't disqualified from running.

Though he's going to be up against stiff competition from the other tribute acts.

That's exactly what THEY want you to think! Those brits are tricksy! They've already snuck a crypto-Canadian into the VP office! Canada is part of the British Commonwealth, so they are like royal subjects up there. Biden is old, he's gonna die in office, then Kamala becomes president, and then she can appoint Meghan Markle as VP, which congress will allow, since she left the royal family... or DID SHE? As soon as queen Elisabeth dies, Kamala can just step down, making Meghan the president, which that gives Meghan and Harry all the might of the American military to fight his father and brother for the English throne, to reunite the US and the UK, beginning his power-mad quest to rebuild Victoria's empire!

(in case you can't tell, I'm being extremely sarcastic, not serious at all... I know it's hard to tell with all the Q stuff going around)

It is obviously a us law but do not have the us code for it handy. I used to work at the white house complex and being around the secret service everyday you learned fast it was not even something to be joked about. The question is what is the exact class (or a class of 1).

Sure, I quite see why it's not a good idea for people working in the White House complex to joke about killing the president even if the Secret Service don't happen to be listening, but that doesn't necessarily make it a criminal offence.

The most likely offence seems to be Threatening the President of the United States, but as the Wikipedia article suggests, it's not always that easy to determine what's protected speech and what isn't (another reason not to risk joking about it when law enforcement may overhear and not see the funny side).

I would assume, though, that applies only to the President while he's in office.

The National Review, one seriously commie rag...

Well, that sucked.

Memo to MAGA and all its myriad fellow-travelers: Maybe Death of a Salesman as presented by Leni Riefenstahl just wasn’t the show Americans were dying to tune into this season.

And, while we’re at it, maybe turning your party over to Generalissimo Walter Mitty, his hideous scheming spawn, and the studio audience from Hee-Haw was not just absolutely aces as a political strategy.

Think on it, Cletus. I know this whole thing still sounds like your idea of a good time — how’s that working out for you?
