But the Republican party is in such a shambles that these scenarios seem unlikely to occur if Democrats continue to work, on every level, providing real healthcare solutions, demonstrating real economic leadership, facilitating real education reform, and obliterating voter suppression.

Oh joy. Maybe we will get to see what happens when Magats hold another insurrection at the Capitol under orders of their God Emperor Trump while Biden is President. Disgusting. The logistics of the first insurrection will be difficult to duplicate in a Biden administration. The Capitol was breached because security managers ALLOWED it to be breached. They knew the large rally of Trump supporters was a danger, but someone(s) somewhere deliberately dismantled the usual precautions for crowd control. As some DC residents have observed, even non-protest rallies have had significantly more security presence than was present for this incendiary event.

That doesn't mean democracy and rule-of-law aren't in danger, they're just not likely to be taken down during another storming of the Capitol building. There are plenty of other ways to dismantle our system, and I suspect it will involve the usual tactics of voter disenfranchisement and an encroaching police state. This preserves the illusion of legitimacy.

Yes. Southern District of New York for federal financial crimes, main office in D.C. for federal election related crimes.

Also: Manhattan DA for state crimes with respect to his business, NY Attorney General for civil matters. Fulton County GA DA for election crimes. One rape case in progress.

However, Merrick Garland won't be confirmed as US Attorney General until early March, so the federal stuff may be delayed a bit.
