Hauliers want priority for perishable goods at Dover

UK hauliers carrying perishable goods say products are losing quality and value as they are forced to sit in long queues to cross into Europe at Dover.
Bad weather, Easter holiday demand and P&O Ferries routes being suspended have all led to congestion around the UK's busiest port.

If one can't make a profit because of all the paperwork, waiting times and fees, the choice is easily made for a company that exports part of their goods to the EU.
The same will happen from the other side I guess. Why bother to deliver into the UK if one can make more profit by expanding to other countries with less problems and paperwork?

It will take years maybe even decades for everything to settle down.
The EU membership turns out (as expected) to be something more complicated than a membership of the local lawn tennis club.
The EU is never constructed for members to actually leave.
A lot has to be reinvented to get things work more smoothly again.

Johnson and Sunak to be fined over lockdown parties

Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Chancellor Rishi Sunak will be fined by the police for attending parties during lockdown.
The Metropolitan Police have been investigating 12 gatherings in Downing Street and Whitehall alleged to have broken Covid rules.
So far, a total of more than 50 fines have been handed for Covid law-breaking in government buildings.

The passport thingy will affect traveling between the UK and the EU in general, not only for language schools. Tourism will be hit too I guess.
With my ID card I can travel all over the EU and Norway and Switzerland.
When I want to visit the UK I have to shell out an extra €60 for a passport first. That makes shopping and sight seeing trips to Paris, Berlin, Barcelona or Prague more interesting than London.
When I need a new ID card in 2025, I might consider to take a passport instead, but until then there is very little chance that Sid Nagy's puppeteer will be sighted at Trafalgar Square, Oxford street or Windsor Castle.

I'm not willing to pay a Brexit fine.
