When AstraZeneca first came out with their Corona shots. The UK was all about the UK first too, although the production was mostly in Belgium.

So when there is gas or oil shortage in the EU, it will be EU first too I recon.
We as EU are not responsible for choices made by the UK in the recent past.

The question is if we can. We have five gas pipelines to EU and one to the UK and they are all interconnected so in theory it's easy to divert gas from one to the other. But there may be capacity issues and also long term contracts that need to be honoured.
