Amazon on Thursday told Republican senators that it removed a 2018 book because the e-commerce site will no longer sell literature framing LGBTQ identities as mental illnesses, The Wall Street Journal reported. This came as a response to a letter asking why people couldn't turn to Amazon, Kindle or Audible for print, e-book or audiobook versions of Ryan T. Anderson's When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment.

Dum dum version.

Some RWNJ complained they couldn't get a bigot book on Amazon so Bezos slapped on a pair of goggles and screamed WITNESS ME and now there are no anti-LGBTQ+ on Amazon.

I have a hard time seeing Bezos as a War Boy.
Zuckerberg has the look down pretty good, just needs some googles and silver spray.

Throw a white wig on Bezos and he'd be a good Tall Man (Phantasm).

Hmm, I agree that people with non-traditional sexual orientation should be respected, but to prevent the dissemination of knowledge, this is too much. It is worth remembering the novel 1984.
"because the e-commerce site will no longer sell literature framing LGBTQ identities as mental illnesses "
-- Amazon response

Classification of gay, lesbian, and bisexual sexual orientations underwent major changes in different editions of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) published by the American Psychiatric Association (APA). DSM I classified these orientations under "paraphilia", and DSM II under "sexual orientation disturbance". DSM III further modified this to "ego-dystonic homosexuality", before finally dropping the subject from DSM-III-R (and subsequent editions).

There, now you have been informed.

I don't remember that much necroposting in any of Orwell's works, though.

Every Orwell quote in a signature is a necro.
"Early in life I had noticed that no event is ever correctly reported in a newspaper. "
~George Orwell

Also, a bit of trolling.

A case of "Tell me you haven't read 1984 without telling me you haven't read it.
I really haven't ever read it. Never felt the need to since everyone else did and told me all about it. All it would do is piss me off so I have no plans to ever read it.

It's been a while since I re-read it. First read it in 1983 and it's still as depressing but I can see why it was written.

I've been using Amazon for a long time, and I often order home goods there. I haven't bought books, but now I will look for the same book that discusses LGBT as a disease. I don't mind different minorities, but I do have kids. And I'm not used to explaining to my kids why other people think differently.
I might be off base here, but...

Best way to do justice to your children is to.... explain why other people think differently.

Besides, maybe teaching them that there are a lot of different ways to order a family unit, that there is nothing wrong with being different, and that no matter what, you'll accept them would save them later on down the line. Because there are more ways to be different than just being LGBTQIA.
