Theres been some of talk about it from Youtube to discord as companies are relying more on technology and less on human beings.

I've recently had my account suspended on discord for 2 years for "BAN EVASION" i'm not aware of being banned to begin with. All i did was click a link of a server for an SL club. the link itself looks safe but i was immediately logged out of all my devices... the owner is confused himself.

Contacting Support only to be told by a bot that i can only appeal directly through the app. and after a week "Someone" supposedly checked it and maintained the decision. i'm unable to appeal again. Discord apparently deletes accounts with no activity after a year... so whats the point of a 2 year suspension? It is supposedly nearly impossible to get a human representative. very few have had a success in getting their accounts back after a false banned,

for the past 2 weeks it seems hundreds of people have been Banned... not just for evasion, but for Child safety, hateful conduct, Spam, Violent Extremism and about ever tag under the sun. Some people said one thing four years ago and is suddenly banned right now out of the blue some for posting a simple meme. Maybe a new version of their algothrom was updated and went on spree. Who knows? Theres supposedly someone working with a States attorney general to sue discord .... but oddly they not getting a response as well. i'm trying to get more info about their situtation.

i'm still very pissed. i'm luckily i have friends willing to make a servers on other software and continue to connect with me. But i feel totally disconnected especially from those i only know on discord i'll never be able to reach again or let them know i'm no longer there and i really want to fight this. i had nitro, was verifed, moderated several other servers. my account is still there. but i'm out of ideas right now and continuously researching..

Yeah, this is a growing and serious problem. AI mods can ban you for no real reason other than it thought you were "statistically" likely to have done something wrong. The bot doesn't know what, and the human staff don't know what if you can even get to talk to a human at all!

I'm still a bit salty about losing my facebook a bit over a year ago. The facebook bot decided I needed to go and I couldn't find any way to talk to actual humans about what or why. It was a blessing in disguise since facebook is a shit hole, but I'm very unhappy with how it happened. I suspect facebook knows that many others were caught in this mess but doesn't want to admit wrong doing.

Losing facebook was not all bad, but I fear other applications that I use more doing the same thing.

I am pretty sure Reddit dropped new AI moderation this year. I had used Reddit for like 15+ years, with almost a million Karma and never any suspensions etc.

Within a month this year I got banned 3 times, with the last being permenant. All by the end of January. Because it thought I was "promoting violence."

I didn't even try to appeal, I just went to Lemmy.

OUCH! Yeah.... I got one post removed because I made a very disparaging comment about "self declared nazi's." Since then, I've been careful to not test it.

Nothing odd about that. They will not get a response. The instant anyone says, "lawyer," "lawsuit," or anything related, the smart move is that all communication ceases except between the attorneys and, of course, between the attorneys and their clients. That's just corporate standard practice and, really, good personal practice, too.
