The part after the "but" is "the Soviet diet may be more nutritious."
See, you read it. And this is how I separate people who read it versus people who read a partial headline and commented anyway. 😏

Two companies to boycott in one day - shame, Michael's has been a nice emergency supply store.

Flashback city.

The comments are interesting. And the cost of production does include labour - but that's not why the prices are going up, at least not in the US. Its much like when Katrina hit - gas prices went up, but funny, the companies made record profits because there wasn't all that much of a shortage after all.... but they sure played that card as an excuse.

Same with food service - these big companies are raising prices whether they need to or not, then go 'Well, things are more expensive for us', but for the big companies? Its not entirely true.

It's not true at all when their profits are in the millions to billions and their CEOs are paid millions plus perks and million-dollar bonuses. They think people are stupid and can't do the math.

Well, some costs have gone up - but usually because of someone else in the big company structure raising prices. Like right now, I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to need to raise my prices because of added cost in supplies.
