I hope you're not thinking I didn't already see that.
Or that I started this thread out of some kind of support for Hillary.
Yes, I voted for her in 2016, and would again if she were running this year and was the candidate. But she isn't, and I don't think her remarks are helping.
And yes, I've seen Bernie supporters (I didn't call them "Bros") being mean. Did you take that as meaning I was trying to vindicate what she said? I was disappointed to see it.
Bernie supporters have a right to be angry but that doesn't mean they have to be flat-out poison mean. I expected better of them. More like this post, and I'm sure there were, but when I looked they were being swamped by the other kind. And that does neither Bernie nor the rest of the Dems any good.

(I didn't read her posts as an answer to you, if it matters...)

Anyhow, as for me, I would prefer if democrats could battle it out during debates, argue policies, and keep personal put downs out of it. Wouldn't that be grand? I can't even imagine Obama saying something like that about another dem.

This "Bernie Bro" bullshit is so hypocritical. The majority of Bernie's supporters are women and he has the most diverse base. That's in all the polls. All the people crying about intersectionality are basically vanishing us people of color, women of color that support Bernie to keep up this sexist, racist narrative.
For what it's worth, both in 2016 and now I've never seen "Bernie Bros" as intended to be a nickname for Sanders supporters in general, but rather a very certain kind.

It wasn't meant for you in particular, but people who think "he hasn't accomplished anything," that convenient lie.

Regarding the rest: I voted for her in the general, and would only do so again if there was no other choice. Everyone always blames Bernie's people for the poison, when there is plenty of that that comes from the other side. They get a pass in the narrative. She's being poison. But it's going to blow up in her face. Too fucking funny, HER calling him a career politician? Hello, did she look in the mirror? Who's trying to maintain a family dynasty? Who laid claim to her husband's office? Who's trying to position her daughter to take Nita Lowey's seat in NY? The lack of self-awareness is astounding. But then, this is a projection game.

I'm just as irritated by Biden Bros, which is also a very particular subgroup of Biden supporters: white guys with a sanctimonious condescension for anyone who doesn't consider Biden to be The Anointed One.

Nonetheless, Clinton's opinion was phrased as an especially tactless remark, even if the substance of it was sound. It creates more distracting furor from the central issues. On the other hand, she's not running for president in 2020, so what does she care whether anyone like it or not, eh?
The explanation I have read is this draws off the toxic Bernie supporters into attacking her, instead of attacking the other candidates for 2020. She doesn't care if it hurts her, the only job she's running for now is Best Grandma.

That sounds almost selfless. Therefore totally implausible. Or maybe you're joking. LOL

When Granny was running against a black man, she coined "Obama Boys" to fight off the toxic Obama supporters. Oops! Granny did you really say that? Was that before or after you justified staying in the race just in case he was shot?

I'm only reporting what I read in one of the opinion articles (probably NYT or WaPo). I didn't say if I agree or disagree with it. I do find it plausible. To the extent Clinton has a preference among the current candidates, Biden probably fits her profile best (i.e. not progressive wing). So drawing fire away from Biden would help him, and increase her influence later, to the extent she wants to exercise it this election cycle.

The Clintons and Obama and Biden and a good number of other Democrats are classic conservatives. Sixty years ago, they all would have been Republicans. As it stands, now, the Republican party is fascist, the Clinton/Obama/Biden wing of the Democratic party is classic conservatives. Elizabeth Warren is probably best classified as a moderate, and Sanders is the liberal in the race.
Of course the NYT endorses Warren. That's the smart move from their perspective. Warren doesn't scare megacorp America the way Sanders does.
Of course Clinton attacks Sanders. She's allied with megacorp America. Always has been. She and Bill helped sell out the working class 40+ years ago.

Seems to me the working class were sold out a long time ago. 'Supply-side economics' dates to the 70s. 'Trickle-down economics' to Reagan. So it didn't start with the Clintons.

I don't remember "Obama boys". Maybe because I wasn't on social media til Obama's second term.
Not doubting that Hillary said it. She seems to have a history of coming phases that backfire, like "basket of deplorables", which, while an accurate description of the most ardent 45 boosters, not only didn't trip her but gave them an extra identity to embrace.
I just don't remember hearing the phrase 'Obama boys' or anything.
I don't doubt that he had his stans, most of the current Dem candidates have some.
But I don't remember them being as virulent as some of the ones these days (not singling out a candidate besides 45).

I'm waiting for AOC or someone to use this description of them, which is prescient considering it was written in 1840s:

The “dangerous class”, [lumpenproletariat] the social scum, that passively rotting mass thrown off by the lowest layers of the old society, may, here and there, be swept into the movement by a proletarian revolution; its conditions of life, however, prepare it far more for the part of a bribed tool of reactionary intrigue.
