I told you we were fucked...

I truly despair how the british people can be so stupid, we will now reap what we just sowed for at least five years, I just hope there's a Britain left at the end of it.
😭
Given that even the DUP are now saying that English nationalism, not Irish nationalism, is the greatest threat to unionism, it's starting to sound like fragmentation is likely beyond just scotland.

Losing scotland will hurt politics in the UK. A big chunk of anti-tory votes would disappear with their independence.

2006?
I'm finding it hard to function this morning. Doesn't compute.... I've already left the What'sApp group with my siblings, as my brother posted that he wasn't the only fascist voting tory in the country, it seems. I keep thinking I cannot believe it... but there we are. Our so-called Christian country is apparently fine with homeless people dying on the streets, children starving in the fifth richest country in the world and the NHS being sold off piecemeal to anyone who is buying. Cannot believe it. I'm entitled to an Irish passport, as I have an Irish grandmother, but I'm not sure what use it will be as none of my children are entitled to one. Stunned.

The rich variety of junk papers selling so many copies every day in the UK, says a lot about the way many Brits get their information, think and vote.
Bozo campaigned accordingly and there you go.

In the 2016 election overall Hillary Clinton got over three million more votes than Donald J. Trump! So when looking at the voters alone the vast majority elected Clinton over Trump! Probably even more when we would estimate how many votes for Clinton have been stolen or prevented due to nasty measures the Republicans are known for.

But due to the electoral college being what it is - a voting result distortion machine - Trump became the president. Not because he was elected by the people, but by the members of that college and Clinton sabotaged by the GOP. The American people have been cheated, like so many times before.

So the US citizens do have an excuse for Trump - the Brits don't for Johnson becoming PM again.

And since roughly 10% of the UK's population is eligible of getting an Irish citizenship due to heritage any time I do expect to rise the number of enquiries on that now a lot, much more like it did after the referendum. To put this in perspective: Ireland right now has a population of roughly 4,7 million people - this would mean an influx of 6 million new people at maximum, so more than doubling the Irish population on paper.

Brexit is coming, my friends - and the unity of the United Kingdom in danger.

Of course now the bromance finally blossoms:

Do you really think I do not know about the electoral college? The question was why people would vote for bojo.

I keep thinking eventually the electorate will have a bit of sense and again they've found a new level of stupid. At least we got rid of the Tory in our area, though our wee Gordon SNP region is surrounded by blue Tory ones. Eew. But a big improvement on London where I'd still have had Bojo as an MP.

Told Mr Muliaina last night, if there was anything good about the result he should get some whiskey to celebrate with. I forgot to add that if there was a Tory landslide he'd need to fill a trolley with the stuff just to get us through the weekend.

It might get interesting as the smug and obnoxious leave/Tory voters who have been utterly insufferable since the referendum, begin to experience the consequences of their Brexit/Tory vote though. It's been mostly theoretical consequences to this point, but now the Tories have such a majority they have no need to pretend they're decent human beings. It's probably going to be shitty for all of us, but those who are still fully in risk denial/fantasy land are going to really feel it when the reality arrives. Especially older ones with health problems, I wouldn't want to be them in a medicine shortage.

Hopefully we'll have another Scottish indy ref, hopefully after Bojo makes his inevitable mess of Brexit and folk can make a properly informed decision this time. No more rushing us to decide then after we commit to the union, dropping a brexit referendum on us. Though I fully expect the Tories to do a power grab and block any referendum they can.

If there's any comfort, the BIG loosers are DUP. I don't know how many seats they won but it doesn't matter, customs border in the Irish channel is coming up anyway.

My playlist for the occasion:
I wonder how many people understand why. But if we got through the 1980s, we can handle the 2020s too - it's just deja vu after all.
Its the end of the world as we know it .....

I have a playlist with songs like that and pop goes the world for occasions such as this.

"So someone is lying to his country and his queen from the first day in office. He meets opposition in his party by throwing the opponents out on edge. He mocks parliament at every opportunity as a chatterbox, he makes a mockery of Members who fear for their integrity. He threatens the media with harsh consequences as soon as they become insubordinate. All of a sudden, he promises the people - the same people his party has cupped for almost ten years - the blue sky. He avoids asking questions - or answers them with new lies."

"And what do people do? They elect him back to office with an overwhelming majority."

"You don't have to be a social or liberal democrat to be shocked by this landslide that took place in England. Because the real losers of this election are not the Labour Party and the many voices of reason on all sides of the political spectrum. The real losers are decency, sincerity and integrity. "

With this election result - and this winner - Britain has bid farewell to the growing club of countries that at best still regard democratic competition, the search for compromises and fact-based decision-making as an annoying fulfilment of duty. They have now been replaced in the self-proclaimed motherland of modern democracy by the right of the strongest, the power of lies and the elimination of contradiction at all costs.

They say geese would never vote for Christmas. They did it in Britain. Now they should hope that those celebrating will become vegetarians in time.
