Trump is unhappy she hasn't broken the law hard enough. MAGA are mad because she did or didn't release enough Epstein files. Actual attorneys are disgusted with her dismissing career prosecutors for investigating things Trump didn't want investigated. Congress wasn't impressed by her put-down session disguised poorly as testimony. In the end she pissed off all conceivable sides and ruined the DoJ's reputation for professionalism and independence.

This does not mean she will be replaced with someone more professional or qualified. Trump will be leaning into political prosecutions and looking for someone to ignore more laws.
Her firing is a reminder that to Trump and all of his allies, every woman is just a consumable resource with a limited shelf life.

Collaborateurs like Pam Bondi just think they're an exception.

Bah. A Reminder that to Trump, everyone is a consumable resource except if you are worth many million.
Yeah, Trump has a LONG history of turning suddenly on basically all of his employers and advisors. All of his original cabinet from his first term eventually got stabbed in the back; often in a very public fashion. That said, I'm sure Trump is extra nasty with the ladies in his employ behind closed doors. ...and sometimes completely in public.

Come to think of it, Stephen Miller seems to have remarkable longevity as far as a Trump's advisors go. Maybe Trump just can't get enough of his lizardman charm?

Trump, being the devil, demands absolute loyalty but gives none in return. I don't know how people don't see this - if you get in bed with the devil eventually you will get burned.

Pam Bondi is going to find herself up on charges before the Hague and Trump will just shrug his shoulders and go on.
Bondi should just go on the BBC and tell the world everything Trumpndemmanded be removed from thr Epstine files.

BBC becsuse US news orgs are all compromised.

How on Earth do you manage to find people who are negatively well-read oh, yeah, right, evangelicals and such. Yep, okay, the math checks out.

She's simply demonstrating her qualifications to be Trump's press secretary -- to tell transparent lies fluently and with a straight face, and to flatter the boss.

The even more disturbing possibility is that she is telling the truth; that his circle of advisors is so willfully ignorant and blindly obedient that he is, indeed, functionally the best-informed person in the room. Given his overweening drive to be right about everything and his penchant for imperious "banishing from the court," I don't think that's impossible. Indeed, it seems quite likely.

That says way way more about the literacy of Trump's circle of morons than about Trump himself.

It very well may be a true statement. Trump may be the moat well read person in any room.

He spreads his narcissistic love equally, but his hate becomes more focused when it's aimed at the women folk. And the black folk, of course.

Things seem to be going well at the Department of War.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has asked the Army's top uniformed officer, Gen. Randy George, to step down, the Pentagon said Thursday, as the United States wages a war against Iran.

A Pentagon official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive matter, confirmed that George has been asked to take early retirement from the post of Army chief of staff, which he has held since August 2023.

The ouster of George is just the latest of more than a dozen firings of top generals and admirals by Hegseth since he first took office last year.

If you use Bayesian probability to decide which of the two propositions, "Trump is the best read person in the room" and "Trump's press secretary is telling flattering lies about her boss," is more likely to be the case, I think there's a clear winner.

Oh yeah... Trump's first cabinet (2017) fell apart fast since it was full of people smarter than him and he couldn't see eye to eye with any of them. This term, his cabinet is full of complete sycophants. I'm sure some are clearly smarter than him, like Rubio, but they are still all complete sycophants.
