Do they realize that Trump had affairs with women while he was married and probably made them get abortions?
They know he's committed every sin known and unknown and they don't care. Some Trump supporters just see this as examples of him being a "bad ass." And I think some conspiracy theory loving fundamentalists just dismiss all of his bad deeds as a giant media conspiracy against a good man of god!

If we listen to my partner, Republicans are the anti-abortion party and unquestioningly voting anti-abortion is the only non-sin option for Catholics.
Would your partner also unquestioningly vote for a party that proposed to ban contraception, divorce , same sex-marriage and sex outside marriage?

I think that, generally, whatever the views of particular bishops, the Catholic Church distinguishes between actions it considers sinful and actions it thinks should be illegal.

But, truthfully, modern politics reminds me of the post-war Absurdist movement. And Donald Trump, the man with not even a concept of an ideology, is leading the charge. How frickin absurd is that?
I'd say it's greater than 250%, but the math. Oh, the math!

Didn't you say that you don't vote because you don't feel qualified?

Is your partner going to vote for Trump?

Do they realize that Trump had affairs with women while he was married and probably made them get abortions?
My partner voted trump. And, they're more than ready to brush away facts. Even if I mention the underage prostitute he raped and threw cash at so she could pay for her own abortion (I need to re-find that article). None of that matters because Democrats are pro-choice.

Precisely.

My partner specifically voted for the party that proposed to ban contraception, divorce , same sex-marriage and sex outside marriage. I'd argue that's pretty common among Vietnamese Catholics.

They have early in person voting here in NJ so I went today. It's the first time I've seen this type of voting machine. They handle more than one town, so it shows the appropriate local options based on your voting registration. Then it prints your finished ballot on a laser printer. Once out of the booth, you slip that piece of paper into another machine that reads your choices. On the other hand, the 100-200 person line was annoying.

Well, except for "thou shalt not kill," as banning abortion is going to kill a whole lot of women.

I thought that was one of those optional commandments when dealing with people we don't like or care about.

But you're not going to use the vote that has been loaned to you because you feel "unqualified"? Or did you change your mind on that? Or are you not living in a swing state?

I don't vote and have explained why ad-nauseum. I don't know what a swing state is. I don't know if Cali is a swing state.

Sadly the 'thou shalt not kill' commandment only forbids the act of killing, it doesn't compel the act of saving someone in mortal danger.

It's like the trolley problem. The trolley will kill 5 people, unless you pull the lever to divert it to a side track that imperils only one person. People believe they'll be held less accountable for inaction than for taking action that harms.

So they're absolutely fine with requiring doctors to 'do nothing' rather than try to save a woman that they believe is OBVIOUSLY being punished by God for her promiscuity, or something else that made her deserve to suffer.

The Blowout No One Sees Coming

Republicans are in serious trouble, though few are willing to acknowledge it. Every major Republican Senate candidate is trailing in swing states according to leaked Senate Leadership Fund polling. Some split-ticket voting still happens, but every major Senate race is down by 5-8 points while Trump leads in the presidential polls. The math just doesn’t add up.

And let's discuss the bunghole Tony Hinchcliffe and what he said about Puerto Rico and Latinos while on stage for the Trump rally at Madison Square Garden.

Even Some Republicans Think Racist Trump Rally ‘Joke’ Went Too Far

Some? All of them should be outraged. If Trump's campaign doesn't immediately denounce Hinchcliffe, admit he should not have been at the rally, and apologize to Puerto Ricans and Latinos everywhere, all Hispanic Republicans should turn on Trump, or accept they are voting against their own interests.

The GOP is going to get absolutely trounced and then the violent MAGA idiots are going to get super violent over it. Calling it now.
I'm afraid what I'm seeing is they go violent no matter what happens in the election. If they lose; violence. If they win; violence.
