Food, good. Shelter, excellent. I like that you consider transportation a basic.
Not clothing? Typically the 4 most basic necessities are considered to be food, water, shelter, and clothing.
What about health care? What about the mental health of a person? Is the care and wellness of ones body and mind basic needs?
What about education?
What bothers me is the premise that "money can't buy happiness." I have an income right now which pretty much takes care of my concerns about survival. A bit more so these days, even. But still I worry about loss of my job, loss of my health care, loss of mobility. One bad situation or event and these things would suddenly hit me very negatively financially. So I worry about a lot of things like this. However, having money that would take care of these, if they were to happen, would certainly resolve my worries.
If I had money, not just what's required to assure that essential needs are covered, not just enough to assure my survival but so I'm able to have a "good" life - at least what I consider to be a good life - I wouldn't have to worry. I'd be much more content, and certainly happier than I am.
