Can one simply stand there like a normal person? (Looking for a new AO)

I'm in the market for a new AO... needs to animate bento hands, preferably have facial expressions and be easy to use. ...but I also want one that isn't cartoonlishly overexpressive. Most AO's on the market for women are trying way, WAY too hard to look sexual or "bad ass." I want something that at least gives me the option of looking more relaxed... any recommendations?

Try some of the understated male anims. They are more gender neutral than you might realize.

First thing out of any AO is any stand where the avatar turns its back on the person being talked to.

This makes sense! Maybe many of the dude animations are just "stand there" rather than constant dancing or pacing back and forth or flexing, lol. any makers in particular you'd recommend? Ideally I'd like a full AO, since I'm too lazy to assemble a bunch of animations.

I don't know about female animations, but Vista has a few good male ones for sure.

LL made it hard, in the old days at least, to make relaxed animations through the uploaded animation being "optimised" by removing small joint movements.

I'd certainly like relaxed standing animations for the rare times I'm in a humanish avatar.

Hey, do you want animations in your AO or not? Stick to your Ruth if you don't like to fidget!

No one AO, but Vista has a pretty good 'relaxed' collection. Though, many of them look like you're nursing a crick in the neck. As for hands, Maitreya includes a 'hand AO' which cycles through a number of relaxed positions. I wouldn't doubt there's a market for that.
Though, I'd really love it if everyone would back off on animation priority. llSetAnimationOverride made that mess totally unnecessary.

Yeah, that 'randomly lean 1 degree over with overly stationary arms' pose is just a tick. =^-^=

It's been a while since I've been looking for human anims, but I recall Happy Dispatch had some good male anims that weren't "jock" or "made man" style.

I use Vista AOs myself, with some edits here and there. Sometimes I'll mix animations between a couple of different ones.

The female ones are pretty good, too but most likely you'll end up adding your own and removing ones you don't like. One of these days I'll sit on my lazy butt and get the FS AO set up again.

My alt has stands in her AO where it looks like she is opening a beer and other one where she is digging her panties out of her ass crack. Is that normal enough?

Then there's the one that used to be super common where you check your foot for dogshit every couple of minutes.

I got the new AO from Vista. It's called Mara. The stands are much better, and the walks don't look like a comedy hooker.
Worth the $L, for me, anyway. Plus, breathing, or so it says. Haven't really delved in yet.
