the MAGA crowd are feeling let down and betrayed after their failed coup attempt (more like a pitch invasion by a soccer crowd who don't like the ref's decision, if you ask me)

They have only themselves to blame. Trump was too lazy to do a proper job of planning, and the MAGAs couldn't plan a play date for their kids, much less a takeover of the US Government.

In my opinion, they really should have been stopped once they left the rally. My understanding is you need a permit for large public gatherings
Once the crowd left the area in front of the stage, they were in violation, and should have been stopped. A well-prepared city police could have done that. On the other hand, invading the Capitol has turned a large segment of the population against them.
