Right now, where I live and where spouse has to go to work, I'm really, really hoping that the NRC will allow extensions on audits because I'm getting really scared.

Our ICUs are full and both our county and city have been fairly proactive.

My brother told me early on that wearing a mask, even off it wasn't N95, was better than nothing in terms of protection for the wearer.
I guess he's right.
It's the sort of thing that's very difficult to prove or disprove, I guess, but since it's advisable anyway, then it's just one more reason for people to do what they should already be doing.

Whether one gets sick does seem to depend on your viral load. A lot off healthy doctors died so there appears to be a quantity component to this disease - a zerg rush so to say.

This is a major concern.... something else I really wonder about is if we'll see a whole generation with greatly increased birth defects. I don't think we have any good data on pandemics of the past to know if they typically cause such effects. If there is one thing I learned from back when I used to work in medical management it is that almost ANYTHING can increase the risk of birth defects...

Given the blood clotting and scarring, I wonder whether there will be an increase in men's infertility. Probably just wishful thinking on my part....

That NY Times article overstates the concession made by the WHO.

See Q&A: How is COVID-19 transmitted?
There have been reported outbreaks of COVID-19 in some closed settings, such as restaurants, nightclubs, places of worship or places of work where people may be shouting, talking, or singing. In these outbreaks, aerosol transmission, particularly in these indoor locations where there are crowded and inadequately ventilated spaces where infected persons spend long periods of time with others, cannot be ruled out. More studies are urgently needed to investigate such instances and assess their significance for transmission of COVID-19.
They say the issue needs to be studied but do not concede the point that we must assume it is spreading in this manner and act accordingly.

(I've figured it was airborne in enclosed areas since the Diamond Princess episode, but what do I know?)

What the hell is wrong with them? They're almost as bad as Dump, then.
