I first heard of a newish word game, Crossplay, of the New York Times. Clearly it is their version of Scrabble where they have changed the values of some tiles and moved the special squares around a bit, probably due to copyright. It came out in January but the first I heard of it was last night. When playing against their computer there is a choice between easy, medium and hard mode. I tried easy mode. It was ridiculously easy with the final score being 336 - 82. Medium was also pretty easy. I won 288 - 178. I didn't try hard mode.

Some other differences include a 7 day time limit per turn which is annoyingly long. And even if easy is chosen it will make dumb moves but use really obscure words, PYIN for example. Overall I much prefer real scrabble as at isc.ro even if the ui isn't as slick as at the NYT.

So...just thought I'd mention it since this game and wordle are both NYT word games.
