I really think we need laws against going after the families of elected officials... it is utterly pointless and childish and leads to a lot of slander. One obvious exception would be if the family members are given political positions like Ivanka was. ...but then again, that probably should be outlawed as well.

Also people like Dr Fauci who are just trying to do their jobs. Rand Paul is trying to crucify him.

I have to respectfully disagree about Fauci. I really respect him and think Rand Paul needs to go get fucked, but since Fauci has a real position in government, he needs to be subject to criticism even when that criticism is totally insane. I certainly also believe there is open season on attacking Rand Paul... This is in contrast to family members who are just private citizens.

Criticism, yes, persecution, no. Rand Paul wants to blame him for COVID -- I mean, for inventing it. He's got people calling for Fauci to be jailed for at least five years. This is not legitimate criticism of how he did his job, this is pure scapegoating, and the rabid MAGAts and Qrazies are cheering him on. They could decide to take matters (and zip ties) into their own hands.
By all means this his decisions, but don't try to get him out his family killed, or, at minimum, ruin their lives.

Well, I suppose it could be argued topics such as renewable energy and sustainability are topics in which "woke" people might reasonably be expected to take an interest. Ditto job creation and so on. Oh, and environmental impact statement. Bureaucratic woke nonsense like that, maybe?

She's not sure how relevant that history is to Williamson County today.

"I'm not going to argue [whether] racism still exists," she says. "I don't personally know any."

"You would never go into a school in, in Germany and say, oh, why do you teach about Nazi-ism?" she said. "You would, you would never ask that question because they do teach about it because teachers want kids in Germany to understand what that history was."

But they can't teach much C20th history in Germany though, can they?

I mean, we're told that statues have to remain so we don't forget our history, so after the Germans took down all the Nazi statues, and then, some decades later, the ones of Lenin and Stalin in the eastern part of country, there can only be about 50-odd years, in total, of the last century anyone there remembers properly.
